Many were wondering what was gonna happen and if one would even be able to buy a handgun with the new laws going into effect but the required programs not up and running yet. So anyone know whats going on? Anyone try and buy one today?

The program is up and running.

I have the HSC book, have seen some report they have the card.

I did a transfer on 12/30/02 so I did not need the HSC, but I do have to show proof of residency and do a "demonstration" when I pick up on the 9th.

I'm planning on taking care of new testing/certification in the next couple of weeks. I've got my running shoes on & I'm ready to jump through them hoops :banghead: I'm planning to buy guns this year as a matter of principle :neener:

Gotta see it for myself. Mebbe I should set myself up as an instructor. Wonder how they'll feel if I did the course over the 'net? Gee everybody, raise your right hand and repeat after me...

Gary, that's a great idea. While your at it, why don't you allow me to rent 2 square inches of your garage for $1 a month and write me up a lease receipt so I can "prove" I live here.

I ended up making the same choice. I saw everyone running out and doing a lot of last-minute impulse buying. I hate to buy under pressure. So I resigned myself to living with the new law. It's also a way to show we won't be bullied out of buying what we want.
