Any words for palmetto state armory?

Alot of people rag on them that don't even own them but dump on them just the same, often times just brand loyalty chest thumping but if they didn't work people wouldn't buy them. I won't judge something until I put my hands on it and put it to use. There are a few videos in YouTube land where they are put through various torture tests and they perform well. They used to be stupid cheap, I've got one that I've got like $400 give or take a few dollars, those days are probably gone.

I hear some people in the middle who say they they like them for range guns, truck guns, etc but wouldn't trust them for duty or defense but honestly out of thousands of rounds and no hiccups I have no reason not to trust it in a life and limb scenario.

No complaints at all. I had mistakenly ordered the wrong 5.65 upper and called to cancel and reorder the next day. Customer service handled it quickly, issuing a credit which was posted to my CC in 2-3 days, and I was able to place the correct order the day I poke to them. The upper and other items arrived within the estimated time.

I have had mostly good experience with several uppers and lowers. But I did get one defective complete upper .The charging handle would hit the buffer tube/stock sent it back to PSA they returned it said it was ok Called them they insisted I return it and a lower.I told them I tried it on 4 lowers did it on all 4.Still insisted I needed to return a whole rifle.I just bought a stripped upper fixed it myself end of problem.Works fine I don't think they ever put it on a lower.

I have always gotten exactly what I ordered from PSA, had a small part missing from a build kit and they sent it right out. They do take their sweet time in shipping your order.

A friend and I have ordered multiple times, combining orders to split shipping, he had a problem with one of his LPKs, this can happen to any company, and called them "early" the next morning and the replacement part was in hand in 3 days, I feel calling customer care earlier is an advantage. When shooting his 16" AR it held up well with all that were there. Recently their prices were a little high but I've noticed them falling back down, I don't think we will see prices as low as before.
Place your order with confidence, if you have any problems call them early, get ready for emails that temts you to order from them again, and again, I found you can match or beat their price by a little but they are close

I bought both my lower and upper for my AR from PSA about 3 years apart just waiting for the best prices. I ended up spending a little over $400. There weren’t any issues with slow shipping that I can really recall from getting either the upper or lower. I haven’t shot more than about 300 rounds through it, but so far it hasn’t choked one time, even with dirty Tula and other low quality ammo.

I haven’t really had the chance to do a proper accuracy test either but what shooting I’ve done at 100 yards tells me it’s on the better side of what you would expect from a budget AR.

I forgot to mention, rifle number 3 has a charging handle that is a little sticky to get out when I take it down to clean it. The others just fall out when I remove the bolt carrier and line up the notches.

I haven’t found a factory load mine likes quite that well, but handloads are quite satisfactory. Federal gold medal match is right at 1” at 100 yards and Federal 150 grain blue box soft point is about 1.25”. So far mine also likes IMR 4064 and heavier bullets, 175 to 180 grain.
I mostly shoot from a bench with the lead sled, so that helps some. My best group was from the 150g Rem CorLocts (that I can`t find anymore).
Ive been told that going to the 180g may even tighten that up more but for what I do I just stay with the 150s.

no doubt it can, H335 is not a great powder for .308, especially with light 110, and 125 grain bullets. I figure 1.5 MOA with whatever I can throw together is great. It wasn't too long ago a hi-end bolt gun was in that range. I have no complaints on accuracy.
If you have the carbine setup, I highly recommend the B5 Bravo stock for it. Its a world of difference. The cheekweld makes it much steadier with all the front weight, and the slightly heavier nature of it actually makes the rifle feel lighter due to the better handling. Felt recoil was reduced from "starting to hurt" to "shoot all day and barely feel it the next". And its the right size scale to the AR10, so it doesn't look like some weird undersize bolt on like the original M4 stock.

To the OP, I forgot to mention, I have fired a decent amount of TulAmmo steel (308) through mine, and it runs good.
Yes sir, the only 2 mods I`ve made to mine was the stock (almost a must) an I run a kaw vally compensator on most all my treaded barrel guns.

I usually use bags with a front rest. I have a 180 grain hunting load with Hornady SSTs I was given after they wouldn’t shoot out of someone’s Ruger Precision. I’d like to try some lighter ones but primers/powder limit options.

Right at the moment, the best for me are those that have what you need in stock and the small LGS here bouts has a FFL filed with them. I never preferred the PSA brand, but, you do what you have to do in a pinch for parts. They shipped the order quickly and well packed. A quick visual indicated the stripped lowers I received were OK. I still need to check the pin hole placement and diameters, should be mil spec on all AR-15s. I have other projects in the works right now.

I have 2 ARs that I have slapped together. The first is a PSA upper and PSA lower parts kit. The second has a PSA lower parts kit. No problems out of either.

I bought a complete upper that runs very well, mostly using .22’s through a CMMG conversion bolt carrier.

I bought a PA-10 that I ended up selling to a friend. It shot great but I really wasn’t into it.

My absolute favorite PSA firearm is the KS47 I bought. Wow, love that gun! Pretty accurate with the cheapest steel case ammo and runs AK magazines. Great gun!

Palmetto State Armory used to have a budget line, I forget the name they attached to it. Stuff in that line had mixed reviews. I believe it has since been discontinued. Everything I have gotten with the PSA name or other name brand on it, from Palmetto State, has been good stuff.

Well the evidence seems overwhelmingly in favor of psa with a few issues as one would expect with mass production, I appreciate everyone offering their experiences.

My order shipped out today making the wait time only 5 business days from payment to ups truck which in today's climate I am impressed. I pick it up around Wednesday and I'll post some photos when it's in hand....I am excited to say the least!

Problems I've Had With PSA-
-Weak extractor spring. Replaced with Colt M4 extractor spring
-Action spring collapsed- Replaced with Colt action spring
-Carbine buffer. Carbine buffers are too light. Replaced with H2 buffer
-Feed ramps not cut properly- PSA cheerfully polished ramps

I received excellent customer service from PSA. When I contacted them about the feed ramps, they took care of the problem without question. Turn around time was quick and they followed up with a phone call to find out if they fixed the problem.

One upper I ordered was out of stock. Their immediate solution was to ask me if they could upgrade the upper at no extra cost. THAT'S what I call customer service.

But they aren't perfect. There have been credible reports of crooked FSBs, loose barrel nuts, loose castle nuts, improperly installed gas keys, overly large gas ports, missing parts, missed machine work and so on. Sometimes customer service is difficult to contact. There have been a few complaints about poor customer service.

Other than the feed ramps, the only problems I had with my PSA AR was bad springs and a buffer that was too light. (Yes, I know- lots of ARs come with a carbine weight buffer and run fine. But they run better with an H2 buffer.)

You can get good stuff from PSA. You just gotta know what to look for and what you're looking at when you get it.

Hello all, so recently I made a purchase from PSA only to later hear about some bad reviews....

Does anyone have experience with this company (either positive or negative)? I have no problem waiting but I am more concerned about not receiving the product at all.

Also, as for the product I purchased, I ordered a complete lower and upper since they were on sale. Any experience with their ar type rifles?
I have a sbr M4 clone built on their M4 marked lower and it had great quality machining and roll marks. I just got an Areo Precision lower for my 7.62x39 DMR upper and it has the same level of quality IMHO. I do like both companies personally and would not hesitate to use any of their stuff if the price is reasonable.

I kept looking at the upper with the F marked front sight. At the time I was in the market for a dedicated iron sighted rifle. When I got the funds together they were out so I went with a 223 with the CHF barrel. With that slot filled the one you linked to is interesting.

I’ve placed a few orders with PSA. I’ve bought three uppers from them as well as some magazines and other items. Everything works well and I did not have issues. My only “complaint” is that a lot of their items are often out of stock. Also, they have really been jerking us around on the release of their guns. Their G19 clone (Dagger) which has been released, albeit much later than promised, but I’m pretty sure they made may 10 of them. Their MP5 clone has been promised for years, but seems to never come to fruition. I just wish they’d not make a big show about a gun well before it is ready for production as it hurts their credibility by missing release dates, etc.
