Any XD-M'ers here?

I shoot my dad's .40 XDm better than my .45 H&K, .40 Sig, or his G26. I guess it's different strokes and all. It comes back on target really well for me, and is quite mild in the recoil department. Looking to pick up a 9mm version.

And $700!? Shop around. All black versions are around for low-mid $500s

I own many hand guns and my XDm .40 is my favorite.
The accuracy was amazing to me, not to mention lots of shooting with NO problems of any kind using different types of ammo. I trust it so much it is the one I have by my bed every night and the one I carry when I feel the need to have lots of firepower.

I purchased an XDm 9mm on Monday. Took it to the range on Tuesday, 14 degrees, (windchill 4 degrees), with snow and ice, but at least I had the entire range to myself.

I’m closer to being a novice than an expert, but IMO the XDm was very sweet to fire. At 15 yards the sights were very accurate. The pistol just felt good in my hands, well balanced and easy to grip. I fired 50 rounds with no problems.

My only compliant is that the 19 round mag’s are difficult to load, even with the mag loader. I’m guessing this will get easier with use and warmer weather.

The weather may help, but so will use. You might try leaving the mags fully loaded for a few days. That really seems to help...

I dislike the grip safety too. However, I will check out the new XD (M) at a local dealer. It does look like a nice handgun.

I bought mine several months ago. I got a nice little certificate with it being one of the first 5000 too.(anyone else?) Wasn't overly crazy with the feel at first, but since have grown to love it. Anyone else notice the trigger seemed to really settle in after the first few hundred rounds?

I handled one at Bass Pro Shop and liked it until I saw the $700.00 price tag. :what:

That's $250.00 more than I paid for my XD-40 service model with factory Trijicons.

I thought, yea right, whatever, and left them with it.

The same price gouging is going on with the LCP...people think it's a "hard to get" gun, so they pay too much for it. I have a feeling that's why these XDms cost more. Only because people are willing to pay it right now while it's a new gun. I bet nobody will charge more than $550 a year from now..

That being said, I picked up the XDm and it really feels great. I had two XDs and sold them, but regret it. They are fine guns, and I hope to add another one to my collection of handguns, which currently consists of a Glock 19, USPc40, Colt Commander, and Kimber Ultra Carry II. I really want an XDm40 in OD/black for a nice woods gun, but might go with a 9mm instead due to the anticipation of a Glock 20SF 10mm being released at the upcoming SHOT show. I'd much rather carry a 10mm into the woods over anything else.

bought one today, he wanted $629, but got him to throw in 40 rounds of hornady 180gr with it. didn't get to shoot it, in ND its DARK at 4:30 pm this time of year. then there is the -38 degree wind chill..............

I just don't get it. I don't see that the changes justify the prices I've seen. There are plenty other guns I would buy at these prices. But hey, if they make you happy, great. That's why there are so many types of handguns out there. It's an individual thing.
