Just wondering how many if anyone is doing the Knob Creek shoot this upcoming weekend. We have plans to go to our first shoot and would like to know from those that have already been what if anything should we take aside from a video camera. Do we need our own hearing/eye protection? Are the firing lines fairly accessible? Are there some must-see items? Generally, what should we expect?

Ear protection, poncho or rain gear, boots that you do not mind getting muddy (it's more of a clay), lots of money.
You can watch the main firing line. I believe they still set up bleachers for this.
Expect a lot of gun nuts converting money into noise.

I think THR's Bogie still goes every shoot. IIRC he is a professional printer and sells t-shirts and bumper stickers. I think he camps. Bogie may be worth a PM.
We always stayed in town at the Super 8, once at the Econolodge (shudder! don't do it) or a couple of other hotels that I do not recall. Oh, yeah, U.S. Cav usually has a sale concurrently as the Creek. We used to swing in there. Got a great deal on a Swedish Army leather coat maybe '96 or '95 and a pair of boots back in '99 or so. Worth a stop.
Is the Patton museum open still? I think someone told me it was closed for a while? Worth it to go there just to see some of the guns in the Patton collection, including that cherry ZB-26.
If you are coming from the North like we were, worth a stop at Exit 4 on I-65 at Kiesler's to buy guns. First "bags of guns" I bought was at Kiesler's. I think we have a THR member that works there in fact.

I'm set up at "The Creek" - B12. Stop by to say "Hi". El Tejon pretty much nailed the necessaries to bring. Projected temps from 40s to 70s; about 10 degrees cooler under the pole barn.

I would be that THR member who works there. I am in wholesale not the retail part of the shop but feel free to stop in and ask for Kevin. Always good to meet people from on here. We are pretty well stocked in the showroom right now so plan an extra couple hours into the trip if you really want to browse.
Oh yeah and we will also have a booth at the Machine gun shoot with lots of goodies so check us out there if you miss the shop.
