It's a short fixed stock that from what I can tell, is about the same size as a closed adjustable stock.

I've been eyeing this stock in the event that I build an AR15. On the AR's I've played with that had adjustable stocks, I find it most comfortable with the stock in it's foremost position anyway. I also like the more traditional look.

Thoughts?

I think they would look kinda goofy, kinda like this mini-airsoft guns. Other then that i dont see anything wrong with it.

I've put them on a couple fella's carbines. CAR/M-4 buffer/spring so decent reliability but a very committed interaction is required. The ones I attended to were expected to be used with body armor and other protective gear so the boys didn't care. If I remember correctly they also have the SP-1 style buttplate so slimmer, smoother and no trap door.

The rifle is going to be a patrol rifle and will be used with body armor. I'm still kind of torn. My department has ARs we can use (only me and another guy put them in the cars with us on patrol), but I kind of want to have my own rifle so I can set it up the way I want.

Being a patrol rifle - how about one of the original style CAR stocks over the more common M-4 style? Shorter in the compressed position, smaller area of butt plate and easily modified to make it smoother and smaller still.

That way, you'll still have the versatility to open it to one of several positions yet not have all the drag-nasties that come with the current crop of ninja/Swiss Army knife stocks.

I have a guy at my club that uses one of those. He loves it. He said he had the same stock on his service rifle over in Afghanistan because of the body armor he wore. Sounds like it may be the perfect stock for you.

If you're not planning on wearing a plate carrier and just your normal vest you might find it too short. I used an A1 fixed rear for several years on patrol and found that it was a great fit for me either slick, in my normal uniform, and even when running my plate carrier.

I purchased one several years ago in an attempt to get a shorter stock during the AW ban. I found that it was a bit too short for my liking as I did not like my nose touching the charging handle. I ended up purchasing a 1" extension to make it halfway comfortable.

I've got a couple. For me they work very well for the squared up "CQB" technique. I'm a little guy though. Depending on your build a Sully or one of the ARFX stocks might fit you better being a bit longer.

I just posted this pic in another thread coincidentally.

Sam, I noticed your pic in another thread, looks good. Do you run a sling at all? I suppose you could just run a single point sling.

I do like my nose touching the charging handle for a consistant cheek weld reference. I don't know if it's the "correct" way to do it, but that's the way I was taught when I first started playing with ARs and I've stuck to it.

the entry stock is stronger than the plastic collapsable, you can use the buttstock extender to lengthen it,attach the extra mag pouch to it also.
if you get into a situation when you have to use the buttstock as a close quarter weapon,it's less likely to break then the adjustable stocks.i had a couple i returned to brownells, didn't check to see if there was a storage compartment or not.

Thanks for the links. I never knew there was extending hardware at the base. Although I really like the shorter length. All good options from everyone, thanks.
