Anyone had any experience with the Mag-na Brake product from Magna Port?

Ref: Mag-Na Port

I sent my new Ruger Super Redhawk .454 to Mag-Na last week to have one installed. My understanding is that they tap the end of the barrel and screw er on.

Hoping it reduces muggle flip as they indicate it will. Hot .454 is a handfull!!!!

Any experiences?

I have used MagnaPorting on various guns and the ports are very effective....the brake is far more effective although the noise level increases quite a bit. I have KDF devices on a 7mmRemMag and 338WinMag and the KDF device cuts recoil greatly.
The KDF and MagnaBreak would be equivalent in effect. The 338 kicks less than a 270 Win I have.
Suspect the 454 is a real belcher...will tame down considerably,,,,probably like a 357 net.

Man, I can only hope that to be the case.

Dont get me wrong, I knew what to expect with the .454's, sort of... :eek:mg:

I had a gp-100 ported and I was satisfied with the results. Though, firing the gun scarred the barrel above the porting where the gas and particles realase out.

I have magna-PORT-ing on my md96 and it makes a huge difference. I know because I have swapped the barrel to prove it to myself. Recoil is way down, but muzzle blast, especially with blue dot is very pronounced.

I like porting, but I would be cautious with it also.

I shot one years ago when they first came out (Magna-Port) and the noise was bad enough but as I turned into the wind just right and got a face full of burning powder (.357) that was enough for me. I've never been interested in one since. They will do a good job of stabilizing the muzzel though if you can stand the noise.
