i have been gawking at the Davey Crickett rifles they have, thinking "if only they had a full sized version so i could shoot" because other than their size i would like one of these rifles very much. then i found out they have an adult version with a longer stock! PERFECT! now, how do these rifles shoot if you are a full grown person? I'm close to six feet tall, and i am wondering if this rifle will be of appropriate size for me? also, i have really fat fingers, i don't know if i am going to be able to get them in the action to chamber a round. how much space is there? if it is too little i have tools and finishing supplies, i can just widen it a little, sand it smooth and then re-blue it. i figure for less than $100 it's not a big deal if it doesn't fit me, i could let my mother enjoy it, or just wait until i am a father and give my son or daughter that rifle. I'd be teaching a new generation of shooters too, and having fun as well! so either way it's a win-win situation.

any feedback would be appreciated!

I got one of the small crickets for my 5 year old, and even though it's not real comfortable, I dont have any problem shooting it (I'm 6'3"). The action is pretty rough, and you cant just lay the bullet in and push it forward like the Savage Mark 1 I have, you have to carefully place the bullet in the chamber, then close the bolt, and pull the cocking knob back. I'd love to be able to give you some accuracy reports, but I just bought it today and havent had much time to mess with it. I bought it because I was taking the wife and kids to the range and forgot to pack a 22 rifle for my youngest son to shoot. I was kinda wanting to get one of these since he can hold it easier, so I just elected to stop in at walmart and pick one up rather than go back to the house for one of the other 22's. I think if I had it to do over again I would probably have just picked up another 10/22 or a marlin model 60, which would be my advice to you :). Hope this helps.
