I bought a Russian SKS a few weeks ago that has a folder and I would like to put it back in a wood stock. I tried one from a LGS but could not get the magazine to lock in. It is possible I will just need to modify the one I bought, Chinese I think, but would rather buy a plug and play deal if possible.

The stock you have should work. They are agravating to get in sometimes . What kind of mag do you have? Stock 10 round or duckbill.

The commies believed in hand fitting things, which is why all those numbers are stamped all over the parts. Some minor fitting is pretty much required.

I you wanted plug and play, you want a AR.

sksman.com has stocks, both wood and fiberglass.

Thanks for the tips. I will check out some of these. I can assemble the SKS in about one minute using the folding stock and can get everything put together in the wooden stock except the mag, both original and 30 rd, will not lock in no matter what I do. I think a Dremel inside the stock might clear the way for the mag to be inserted the extra 1/4" needed but I am so bad with power tools I might saw the stock in half.
