NAA Guardian .380 in a Nemesis. Coat pocket in cool weather. Front pocket other times. Works great!

If I don't have a 1911 on my hip, I've usually got the 442 in a Mika holster in my pants pocket. Or the inside pocket of a jacket.

As a fellow who is tapered like an ice cream cone, gravity is NOT my friend so I wear suspenders. If you like suspenders but hate getting hit in the back of the head when the back ones pop loose getting in the car or whatever, check out Perry suspenders. They hook on your belt instead of clamping or buttoning on your pants. The hooks (Plastic of some sort) are durable and will accommodate thicker belts like the leather gun belt I use for daily wear. I broke ONE hook when I hung a strap getting out of a big truck and Steel wouldn't have survived that without bending pretty bad.

I am in no way associated with Perry nor do I sell them. I am just a customer of some 8 years and own them in many different styles and widths. Wearing a belt tight enough to hold up my jeans was cutting me in half when I sat down and was actually causing me some nerve damage and I HAD to go to suspenders. Since I found these, I haven't bought another brand.

642 fits in the back pocket of Levis perfectly.
I agree.

Also disapears in my front pant pocket in every pant and very concealable in the breast pocket of any leather jacket.

98% of the time I am out of the house I am carrying a Rossi M88 in my right front pocket. The printing is broken up, so it is hard to tell what is in my pocket. The barrel wore a hole through the denim in a few weeks time, so I need a holster of some kind that fits deep in my pocket. Draw is slow, but I can go anywhere without worrying much about printing or exposing. I also had to move my wallet to my back pocket. It takes time getting used to sitting on a lump, but I hardly notice it now. I sometimes carry a Beretta 92FS Compact in a IWB holster. It works well too, but it does limit my motion a little.

I hate, and I mean HATE, wearing a holster. I hate wearing a belt even w/o a holster. When I get my permit, I'd prefer to pocket carry a DAO revolver and wondered if anyone out there did this on a regular basis. Any concerns besides printing? Is this a long-term viable option?

I'm thinking right front pants pocket in the summer and inside jacket pocket (left side for right hand draw) in the winter. If something were to ever happen (justified self defense shooting, a cop stoped me for something innocent and I informed him/her I was carrying) would they think pocket carry is unsafe or suspicious?

Thanks.

I hear ya. IWB is the only real option for bigger guns for me and I don't like a weapon on a belt. I wear carpenter's or wrangler cargo jeans with big front pockets an most of the time I have a 13 round capacity 9mm Kel Tec P11 in my right front in a home made wallet style holster. I can pull this holster out and lock it under the seat on my SV650S Suzuki and it looks like a wallet to the general public if I need to disarm which I rarely do. It pushes a 115 grain JHP to 1263 fps, enough for any threat IMHO, and is 3.5", 25 yards accurate and quite easy to shoot. I can clear a row of 6" falling plates faster than most average shooters can with a target weapon at 25 yards off hand. I'm that well practiced with it. I've been carrying it a dozen years now and love the thing. There's almost NO situation in which I cannot carry this gun, only 14 ounces unloaded, only 1" thick even though it's a double stack. The trigger is long and smooth and safe for a pocket pistol as any revolver. It never fails, always goes bang, always shoots to POA. I do have a Taurus M85UL in .38 special I carry, too, but the little 9 just makes more sense. It's about as accurate, more powerful, more compact and lighter in a pocket, and a spare magazine rides easily in a knife case on my belt and gives me 25 rounds total firepower. I CAN carry two spares easily enough, but normally only have one spare on me. As accurate as the little gun is and as confident as I am in it, I don't really think it'll take, but a few shots to get the job done, but it's there, just in case I run into the MS13 gang or something. You never know.

I want to get a P3AT or LCP for any situations where I might not want even the P11's bulk, but those situations don't happen too often, nearly never. The P11 is so easy to carry and offers such advantages over .380 single stack guns, I'd default to it in any, but the most rare of occasions. Right now, all I have smaller is a NAA mini revolver, not a great choice in a primary. I have a Grendel P12 which is reliable, but not very accurate and nearly as big as the P11. It carries in the same holster, actually made it for that gun, in the back pocket of any pairs of jeans and of course the front pocket of the jeans I carry the P11 in. I can hit a paper plate with it at 25 yards 12 out of 12, accuracy doesn't impress me much, but would get the job done up close. The P11 will knock the center out of that paper plate and each round has twice the energy, 410 ft lbs vs about 195. No brainer which one of THOSE I carry.

+1 for the Keltec P-11. I use it with a uncle mike's pocket holster and no one can tell it is a gun. Small enough for pocket carry with enough power for its intended use.

"340pd in a Desantis nemesis holster and a speed loader in the other pocket and fugetaboutit."

Just like that, but replace the 340pd with my Smith 649.

Pocket carry daily have a SW442 riding in a Kramer pocket holster with one Bianchi speed strip. Has been painless for years. Give it a try.

Its been nearly a year since I've left the house without a 38 in my pocket.

Yes most of the time.I wear overalls everyday and wear no belt unless hunting and carry a bigger gun or a shoulder rig with a bigger gun.carry everything from mod.10 snub nose in back pocket to small auto in front or 1849 wells fargo .31 with short barrel.

I'm not an overalls kind of guy but I have to use a belt. As has been pointed out some sort of britches support is needed to pocket carry. I use a Nemisis with my 442 and sometimes opt for jacket pocket in the winter months but usually pocket. The Nemisis is an excellent pocket holster and its dirt cheap. Worth every penny and then some. I couldn't recommend it enough.

A good bit of the time I have a Glock 19 with me as well (in a BladeTech UCH) so a good belt is needed to support that weight. Which I might add I don't notice much.

I do on occasion.

If I'm in cargo's or Dockers, my Sig 232 will fit in a pocket holster.

McGunner: All the hiking around you do with that Spartan, I find it hard to believe that you got a plumbers crack! :D BTW, got a year going on the sling on my Spartan coach gun with no probs.

I routinely carry a S&W Model 60 with a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. I use the large version, because it covers both trigger and hammer, making a ND far less likely. I would never, repeat, never carry a DAO revolver in a pocket without a holster of some type . . . way to easy to wind up DOA . . .

Kel-Tec PF9 in a Galco Pocket Holster. Hardly know it's there. Completely disappears in my dress pants for the office, in casual Dockers or any other pants or shorts I wear. It is accurate and dependable. Like MCgunner I prefer the 9mm over a .380 or .32acp any day. I also used to carry the P-11, but the PF-9 feels so much more comfortable.

For everyday I wear Aramark uniform pants and for weekend/casual it is Wrangler relaxed fit jeans. Elsie rides nicely in a Nemisis holster in the RF pocket of both.

When I don't have my HK on my belt, I've got my Taurus snubbie .38 special. Sometimes in my pocket, other times on a belt. Holster, no holster...depends on my mood. I've never had any problems with pocket carry with or without a holster. I generally prefer a pocket holster just for position stability and it helps keep the firearm from collecting dust, lint, tobacco, etc.

Seecamp .32 in an Uncle Mike's #3 holster = invisible even in snug jeans. It looks like I have something in my pocket but no hint of a handgun print.
