+1 Fingers. Very well worth the price.

Regardless of fit, which is very important, if it ain't either carbon steel or hardened, it ain't worth spit. It WILL break when you most need it.

I also have the ratcheting nipple wrench from The Possible Shop for bench use.

The only other one I've ever found that's worth mentioning is: RMC hardened revolver nipple wrench
but I'd still buy the one from The Possible Shop.

Count me in as a fan of the Universal ratchet.

I bought 2...one for the range bag and one for the home bench.

The pictured one is for rifles, won't fit pistols.
Buy a Ted Cash Rachet & yule never need another nipple wrench.
I have one for the bag, one for home use & one for rifle nipples (#11)

But what quality nipple wrench works on the little .31s?

As for hardened, would casenit work on one of the L types to firm it up?

Jim,
I have one of those wrenches and it needs to have the shank ground down to a smaller diameter to make it fit revolvers. I crudely did that on mine. Looks hokey. Get the ratchet one like the distinguished gentlemen above have recommended. I did and love it.

IMNSHO, this is the best nipple wrench ever made:

Universal Nipple Wrench 45-016 $26.95

From the Possible Shop
http://possibleshop.com/s-s-nipple-w...cbnipplewrench

It may be a litle pricey; but you'll never break it. I've been using one for more than 15 years.

Thanx Fingers, i checked 'em out and i LIKE 'em.
I don't think i'll need the Universal tho coz after the responses in my nipple post i'm gonna make all my nipples one style.
I am impressed with possible shops's wares ;)

I have one just like the one in the OP. I use it on my TC Hawken. Works great on the rifle.
Coupe, after readin yer post and then goin back and lookin at my link,i realized that that particluar wrench is for rifles and pistols with side locks only. Won't work on a 6 shooter.

Bob, i wouldn't be afraid to try Casenite on one o' the softer wrenches.

Jim,
What I like about these message sites is because it is just like going out to a gun club and mining the minds of the old timers who have already "been there, done that" to solve shooting problems. About 10-15 years ago I started out being one of the tyros and now am feeling like one of the geezers.

Boy, you got that right Gate.
I love the wealth of knowledge to be had here.
One o' the good parts is that it's shared without the 'puffed chests'.
As for the tyros and geezers part.
For me it's the opposite.
15 years ago i was one o' the geezers, an accomplished gunsmith.
After a Lonnnnnng bout of bad health it has made me one o' the tyros once again.
But, thanx to this site and all it's knowledegable members, and my wifes' new found PASSION for slingin lead, knockin all the dust and webs out o' my stale grey matter i'm slowly gittin right back into it.
Startin out slow tho right here in the BP forum.
Jist can't recall enough to contribute in the 'smithin' or reloadin' forum here.
I do occassionaly peek tho and let them jog my memories.;)
