I forgot to note that if I am at work my house gun (beretta) is also my CCW/truck gun, so I leave a different gun out for the wife. She prefers my Taurus 85 ultralite.
How sad.

Except I have to agree with some other posters - no guns in the shower!
Hhmmm....I used to keep a double-edged dagger in the bathroom, in easy reach of all the facilities.--PatriceI live in a one-room apartment so a firearm anywhere in my home is close but yes I do keep a pistol locked and loaded and near me at all times. Especially whenever I open the door to someone unexpectedly. Considering the number of home invasions and muggings in my area I feel perfectly justified in my actions. Only problem is that because I live in a one room apartment with very thin walls and neighbors on 3 sides its not overly practical to use either my pistols or my rifles in self defense unless they are between me and the street. However I do make sure to keep several knives within reach at all times. Hell at one point my mother came by and found the knife I keep hidden in my bathroom. That was an interesting conversation.

I believe that a majority of all people who own firearms are going to be armed with a firearm in some way inside their homes.
