Anyone else getting broke by ammo?

In addition to reloading I've also invested in snap caps. Just another way to save some money while practicing. Evevtually this will level out and prices will probably go down a little. Thats Capitalism for ya.

Chuck R., you're my hero! Way to Go! Even reloading, I wish I could squeeze a trigger that often.

"Is this Heaven?" "No, it's" Kansas. (My apologies to Costner).

Well it helps that I built my own range, so I can get out 2-3 times a week when the weather’s decent. In between chores I can get a few drills in.

My decision to start reloading.....

is looking better and better. About a year ago, I wouldn't consider reloading 9mm. Now I reload 9mm along with everything else I shoot. True, components are going up in price, but once you've made the initial outlay for equipment, you can save some money reloading, particularly if you shoot a lot like I do.

And Chuck R., my envy of your outstanding range knows no bounds. What a great setup.

How about instead of reloading, can you save as much money by using .22 LR rounds as your primary target shooting, and saving your 9mm or bigger ammo for occasional practice in self defense?

That was my take on it .. I picked up a new .22 lr handgun today ..

Couple of years ago, when gas prices started going up (more expensive to ship ammo etc.) and "duty" ammo (223,7.62x39, etc.) started becoming harder to find because of Iraq/Afghanistan I decided it was time to buy a Browning Buckmark Camper. One of the best gun purchases I ever made.

How is that Monarch, James? I ignored it (only in .45 last time I looked) as I thought they were just steel-cased ammo ala Wolf

I shot 200 rounds (100 9MM & 100 40S&W) of the Monarch brass yesterday. Didn't have any problems, but it did seem a little dirty. Overall, I think it's a good value.
