in .44 Special? I just picked one up yesterday, NIB. I was planning on getting a Model. 69, but got a much better deal on this. Besides, I had no plans to shoot .44 Magnum anyway.

In see in the S&W catalogue, the current TR special comes from the Performance Center and has their action tuned trigger. Anyone know if my 1st gen one had a factory action job too?

I had a M21 Smith but got rid of it. I don't believe it had a factory trigger job. I hated the round butt, even with conversion grips, I didn't like it. Sold it.

Shot great, but really prefer my Taurus M431's.

I have a 22-4, the trigger is nice, but I have no point of comparison to performance center vs. no performance center triggers.

I own a 21-4, but not a Thunder Ranch version. It's a great revolver, and the trigger has really smoothed out, without any work on it. Mine was NIB, although used, when I bought it. I've since put about 500 rounds through it, and it's really fun to shoot.

I put a set of Ahrend's round-to-square target stocks on it, and it fits my hand almost perfectly.

I reload, and shoot primarily 200gr LRNFP bullets over Bullseye or W-W 231, and it's like shooting .38 WC's. Very mild recoil.

I have a 21 in nickel. It's my favorite S&W gun. I've fired thousands of rounds through this thing. Those Ahrends stocks fit my hand like a glove, and the action is as smooth as glass. I dislike the huge square butt guns. Way too much bulk and poor ergonomics. The 21 is near perfect, everything you need and nothing you don't.
