Anyone else here who doesn't own AND doesn't want a polymer framed pistol?

There's a term for that in English too - gaudy ;).

Yeah, I can't say that I find that Hi Power all that attractive (though I like Hi Powers in general). Though the grips are worse than the engravings. Also in a gun that's clearly meant to be looked at rather than shot, the adjustable sights on that gun really breakup the silhouette.

IMHO, that gun wouldn't look bad if the grips were switched over to some nicely figured checkered wooden grips (which wood is a matter of taste) and the scrollwork eliminated - or at least significantly reduced. Call me too modern but those types of patterns are something I'd expect to see on a woman's handbag, not a firearm :).

I've never talked to anyone who has been on a two way range that complained of having too many rounds.

How many of them had rounds at the end of the back and forth? I didn't say want more rounds, I said need more rounds.

The number of rounds you need is the absolute minimum to accomplish a task. Of those guys, not including soldiers or cops who have a higher likelyhood of multiple targets, shot out their carry load in a SD situation? Anyone know the average number of shots fired in a SD situation where a gun is brought into play (yes, a show of gun and the BG runs counts as 0). It's not the people who had enough that we need to look at here, it's the people who didn't have enough to survive the encounter. How many shots were they carrying...

If I only need 3-4, I'm not going to say that is all I wished I had or that I wished I had less than the 10 I was carrying.... but that also doesn't mean I needed more than 3 or 4.

Don't know why someone would exclude polymer from their possible lineup just because it's polymer. You really limit yourself. There are a LOT of great polymer guns out there.

There are plenty of excellent steel, stainless steel and aluminum framed pistols out there too so I don't feel limited at all.

I kind of get the op. I will probably own a polymer handgun some day but for my first handgun ever (when I turn 21 in a year) it really just has to be metal, even if its an alloy or something (I'm considering the cz p-01 for example), for posterity sake or something. It doesn't make sense, I mean my trainer has like decade old glocks that look nib but when you think of something you are going to keep for a lifetime, I want it to be cold and beautiful. I have plenty of plastic airsoft guns now, so I want something "real" instead.

Hmm I have a Kimber TLE 1911, Para Ord GI Expert 1911, a S&W Mod 5906, a Ruger GP100, a Ruger SR9, a Walther P22, a Glock 17 a Tauraus .357 I guess I'm an even split :p I prefer to carry a Polymer though. Capacity isn't so much as issue as weight is.
