I like everything about my Model 12 riot except for the way I have to be careful when feeding the magazine.

The Model 12 is designed so that the last shell loaded into the magazine sticks out into the receiver and engages the lifter. To me it is a little tricky, and I would not want to have to do it quickly, in the dark and under lots of stress.

I will look for a picture.

I just got a mod 12 and that was the first thing I noticed..... I much prefer the tube loading of my Ithaca 37!

It doesn't bother me. Just be sure to place the brass head on the lifter before you begin to push the front of the shell up into the magazine, or you'll have every shell in the tube in your palm in no time.

It's not the best design, but I'll overlook it considering the rest of the Model 12 is so darn classy.

It does not bother me at all. The model 12 is still my favorite shotgun. The two Stevens 620's I own are also the same way -- but both Stevens combined cost less than the model 12, and it shows in fit and finish and smoothness of operation. The model 12 is the Mercedes of pumps while the Stevens are Fords -- still good, but in a different league.
