Taurus, PT?
If so, is it worth it? Would you trust it by your side? Compared to a Springfield?

safety broke
off while the weapon was being used in competition.
NIB Taurus PT 1911's are a "crap shoot" at best
if anyone can recommend a 1911 that's good straight out the box without having any issues after 5k+ rounds without having to "trick it out" that's not heavy in the pocket then that's what i'm looking for.
I've tried several.
Colt
Springfield
Para-Ordnance
Ballester Molina
Smith and Wesson.
Each ejected the spent shell casing in such a manner as to strike me right in the face.
Is that supposed to be OK?
I don't know whose idea that was, but I'm done with the 1911.
