Anyone ever use these?

You haven't had fun until you've gone wasp/hornet/whateverstingsya hunting. Set up downwind from a nest and set out some sugary substance or a piece of meat (whatever your preferred quary is interested in).

I liken it to duck hunting on a miniature scale at higher speed. Still waiting to get one with enough remains to take a big game style photo with!

I have used many boxes of these for pest control as others have described.
At 15-20 feet they are quite effective on chipmunk size pests.
They are LOUD, so be sure to use ear protection.

In my experience, the Winchesters are best followed by Federals.

Be safe and have fun !

I cannot remember though, if the shot size was a #9 or #12.

Last time I checked, .22LRs were #12, and .22WMRFs were #11. Most of the centerfire pistol shot rounds are #9. The old Remington crimp-nosed .45ACP shot round used #12.

I have a friend in his 70s who always takes a small .22 revolver loaded with (I think) #12 shotshells with him when he goes out in the country, whether hunting or just hiking/walking around. He's had the gun some 30 or 40+ years and says it's the best close range anti-snake weapon there is because it's small enough to fit in a holster or large pocket and leaves your hands free for other things, but will do the job with a single shot.
He told me he grew up on a farm and first learned to shoot clearing snakes and rodents out of the barn, chicken yard, fields, etc. using small caliber shotshells like the .22lr.
