Right behind you!!
I just wanted some info on concealed carry magazine. I've never come across it, and I wondered how useful or informative it might be about carrying a gun. I am going to start packing in a little while, and can use some advice, tips, info, etc. Or is it just a bunch of advertisements, or is it both?

Thanks.

Several of the folks on THR write for CCM from time to time; George Hill of MadOgre fame is one of the columnists. Oleg has done pictures for them from time to time too, and P95Carry's daughter was featured on one of the covers.

I really like the magazine, but I'm biased. They had the nerve to print the most sarcastic article I've ever written! :D

I've never seen it but I do recall when it was just getting started and there was some discussion here. the guy seemed to have some good ideas.

For those who are interested, but have neither the time nor the patience to do a google search for Concealed Carry Mag:

I got it for a cycle...it was pretty good. I'll have to get around to renewing it eventually.

Decent articles, in a fair amount of depth, all centered around carry issues.

Subscribe to a magazine sight unseen? Nope. If I were to see it at a news stand, I'd flip through it and possibly buy it, but too many magazines have been hyped too hard for me to trust them.

I mailed in a membership to the USCCA a few months ago. It's $40/year. You receive the magazine as part of the membership. It's published 8 times a year and I understand it isn't available at any newsstand. The three issues I've received thus far have all contained good articles, photos, tips, etc...even the ads are entertaining.

I'm a charter subscriber and after this month (my last issue) I will let it go. In the beginning it was so good. Reprinting the Jeff Synder essay "Nation of Cowards" and other really good articles was very cool. But this last year it has turned really lame. A Psych Doc with a column, IMO wierd. No disrespect to George Hill but I really dont want more reviews on guns. Or the IMHO wacko-ish knife fighting crap.

If Tim got back to (or started to write about) the U.S. history and tradition and logic of why we carry. And more personal profiles/stories. Which humanizes the 2ndA, then maybe. Showcase new converts or new americans (the Legal ones) Did they leave because of abuse from another Govt and seeked shelter with the Bill of Rights??? They understand all to well why this Right is so important.

I do like that one gal from WI and her History column. But its to short.

If it was more mainstream. everyday americans going about thier everyday lives and how CCW fits right in. Even local photo shoots (the camera kind) where its legal to express this "Right" And what prevents them from expressing this limited and highly regulated "Right" further.

I wont rule out picking it back up, but for now I will let it go. I like Tim, seems like a cool guy.
