I picked up this box of primers today at a local gun show and was wondering if anyone has a general idea how old these primers are? Ballpark?

Yeah, 1980’s vintage for sure as it still has the Omark logo on the bottom.

I still have some of those in the 250 - large rifle magnum flavor. Mine still light up just fine.

I can’t say how those primers have been stored for all those years so you may have different luck... but I hope they work just fine .

Stay safe.

Ok sounds like 80's from what everyone says. I still plan to load them up in .223 for plinking, but keeping the powder load on the lower end. I'm interested to see how they fare. I don't expect any issues because they appear to still be in good condition.

My 450 are like the OPs photos. Was going to use them today, but read my note.

Have CCI 400 & Federal 205 .

This week, had the 2nd CCI 400 misfire, same lot. This one started the IMR 4198 burning just a tiny bit. No 223 bullet movement. The one before took 4 firing pin strikes to fire.

If the box is correct it says Large Rifle Primers, the 223 uses small rifle primers. Don't think it will work in your 223 to well. As to how long primers will last if stored correctly not to hot or humid they might outlive you.

The box that shows large rifle primers was posted by another user just referencing the similarities with my box. The primers I purchased are CCI 450 small rifle magnum primers. Thanks

Early 1980's.

I bought a bunch of these when I was just out of college.

I am now using them. They have yet to have a failure to ignite the powder.
