I know this round isn't SAAMI, but does anyone know or have a good idea what kind of pressures this cartridge operates at? My best guess is 20 000 to 22 000 cup but that is just that, a guess. Another thing that I'm curious about is whether anyone has loaded 180 gr bullets in it and can tell me what the velocities are like, I imagine that results are not impressive, probably much like a 185gr .45. But the SD would be up a fair bit, making this a worthwhile thought in my mind. Any overall opinions of the cartridge from those who have used it would be great too, I'm trying to decide whether I want a barrel in .400 CorBon, seems like such a cheap way to play with a whole new caliber. Thanks!

I have done some reloading for this case. Have not had much luck so
far. Biggest problem is bullet retention. Need to try and reduce the
size of my powder funnel to try and get more neck tension.

I think I might have a problem with the barrel in my gun that I built.
I have a feeling that the chamber is short. Had trouble with factory
ammo pushing the primer in to the firing pin hole and shearing it when
the gun would unlock.

I have seen what is called the .40 Super. The round looks identical.
Have not checked any specks between the to yet. Might give it a try
too.

I've done a little research on .400 corbon

I've found that the .400 corbon performs well with lighter bullets like 135grainers. Whereas the .40 Super performs much better with heavier bullets. Then I realized that both these rounds were just trying to be 10mm's so I bought the 10mm.......never looked back.

yep

Nope, figure PSI in the 30-38K range.
NOT a heavy-bullet case, neck's too short.
You wanna 10mm case-n-cartridge........

Heaviest bullet I've tried was a 140g.
