Anyone have firsthand experience wth the Choate "Ultimate" rifle stocks

I know I know they probably have the corniest name for a rifle stock EVER, But my question is regarding the Choate "ultimate' sniper/varmint stocks is, Are they worth a crap? Particularity in the context of being used for a target rifle. How are the ergonomics off sandbags? Are they nice and rigid?

I had the Sniper with Remington 700 heavy .308 in it. Actually, a nice stock. Very sturdy and heavy. Nice ergonomics and useful off of bags, bench or bipod.

The checkering was TOO sharp, but that is easily corrected with some sandpaper or file to your preference of feel.

Action is solidly bedded in aluminum blocks and barrel free-floated with tons of room to spare. Rifle regularly delivered half-minute groups with MatchKings off of the bipod.

If the increased weight (and silly name) doesn't put you off, I think you would probably like the stock. I did.

I have a savage 10fp that came with the ultimate varmint stock. It feels great, is fairly rigid, and heavy. From the bench, a bipod, or prone it is about the best around for the price. I didn't have any problem with the serrations under the forearm and grip/butt, they grab onto sandbags quite well. Mine came with 2 cheek peices , a bipod adapter for the anscutz type rail under the forearm and 3 LOP shims. If you are looking to put a little extra weight and rigidity into it, you can pack some fiberglass in the forearm with some lead weights, put some weight in the hollow pistol grip, and some more in the butt if needed. I really like the knob that screws in under the rear of the stock, combined with a bipod it makes for a kind of built in bench rest.

I have a ultimate varmint on my savage 110 in 06 I really like the set up I have but I will switch it with something in 300 win mag for longer range shooting, my pic is in this thread,http://thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=3975521#post3975521
