Made in the Czech Republic, looks like Czechpoint-USA will be importing them in about 6-8 weeks.

All I have heard is they sell a lot of firearms in Europe with an excellent reputation. Interested to see what they have, and MSRP listed from Czechpoint apparently will start $299 for shorter barrel length alloy framed revolvers. Hmm, Taurus has a competitor without the lousy CS?
Just curious if anyone has any experience with Alpha Project firearms.

I was just reading a thread about them, actually it was about CZ and how they ALFA could beat the state subsidized gun industry, with their own product - a licensed Tanfoilo TZ (Know in the use under the import name EAA Witness- AKA CZ 75 Clone)

From what I read, they are much like Kel Tec, as in a small CNC oriented firm, but from a country with close to 900 years of Gun Making. I would like to find some of their Semi's sold under the Rock Island name, not the 1911, but the MAP http://www.armscor.net/map1_pistol.html

From what I read, high quality product

Only the Alpha revolvers will be imported. EAA Witness, aka Tanfolgio Force is imported at the Witness and it's very own clone, the AR-24 by Armalite. The Alpha Project revolvers apparently do share quite a bit with Smith revolvers, minus the evil lock.

I have only read of them and would like to see one in the flesh. For $299, it may be worth the risk of being the first kid on the block to own one.

Hmmm

the MAP looks like my tanfoglio EAA witness.
picked it up for 300 NIB at gun show few months ago.
i really like it.
400 rounds one stovepipe at around round 135 during rapid fire.
regards

Interesting product -- glad to see new revolvers being made. So far, I have only one (another looking likely soon), but I sometimes get the feeling that revolvers are a dying breed, glad to see all evidence to the contrary ;)

Curious about who in Europe buys 'em. Police? How many non-police get to buy handguns, and how popular are revolvers there? I know that there certainly are European revolvers (Korth, say ;)), but I associate revolvers with the Americas generally.

I like the look of their .22 target pistol!

I have no idea who buys guns in Europe, never been there, :) I assume there is some kind of civilian market there, but I don't know who or where. The 3 inch fixed sight 357 model looks a nice, and I'd like to try the 22 4 inch version, too.
I think one of the revolver carbines was at the NRA show as well.

Damn, 890g - 31.5oz for the 3". Well, there's definitely some metal in there.

Can't folks in Finland, Denmark, Italy, Czech, Slovakia, Luxembourg(spelling I know), Switzerland, Belgium own pistols to one extent or another. I mean there might be seemingly insane methods or means they have to deal with like pysch evaluations and belonging to pistol clubs but not all parts of Europe go way of the Nazis or Soviets when it comes to folks having the right to own firearms. I thought even the French could to some degree or another after some really rigorous painstaking ways. I'm all for importing foreign made guns, kind of ticks me off we can't import Norinco made 1911s, Tokarevs, AK variants and M1As(or was it M14s, can't remember). Gives our local manufacturers more motivation to focus on quality work, excellent customer service, and innovative products. Or they could whine and we'd get another 1986.

I hope they send their revolver carbines to America. A carbine can be quite a useful thing to have around and these work just like my usual sidearms, use the same ammo, etc.

MachIVShooter, that's what I mean - the Sarsilmaz is a clone of the Tanfoglio. Sarsilmaz used to be a Tan distributer, than started making thier own clone. Good pistol.

Kendal, I saw a picture of the Czechpoint booth at the NRA show, and they had the 22 caliber revolving carbine showing, so I guess that's a yes. :)

Whee! I hope they bring in the .357's too. One of those would be a good gun for around the house or on the trail.
