anyone herd of this maker..J.WOURNEL..???

    .yes a friend just gave me a very old 16,gauge double barrel
    the patch box is built in the bottom of the butt-plate,and under
    the lid,is the name J.WOURNEL..i think??it has a steel ram-rod
    it as a few proof marks under the breech part of the barrel
    such as a number 34 in a oval circle,ad what apears to be two
    strands of wheat crossing each other,as a proof mark,
    the number 16,capital G is stamped several places,like under
    the trigger gaurd,the gaurd and every thing else is old steel
    trim,with a floral desighn,back in the day it was probaly a
    $75.00 buck gun,this shot gun is a cap-lock and very old...
    anyone got any info at all???on a date made??

    I'm not famliar with J. Wournel ... you may have some luck at the following forum...some very knowledgable collectors and onjepinours there...in various forums. Hope it helps you identify and put a value to it for you.
