Needed 1911a1 barrel info.

I need help with the marks on a 1911a1 barrel I have. The only marks on the barrel are the serial number over the breech and then a capital letter "K" above a capital "RA" within a circle under the barrel just in front of the link.

Anyone know what the RA and K are????

Uncle Sam didn't serial number 1911-A1 barrels, but Argentina - who also used the pistol as their model 1927 - did. They also used an inspector's mark consisting of the letters RA in a circle. Can't help you with the "K" though, but I know they used the letter "R" in an oval, and I presume they could have used the letter "K" too.
