Was wondering if anyone has any idea of the current wait time for ATF to approve forms. I will have one pending as soon as my dealer gets it in his hands.

If you get it in 60 days or so you will be the first in 2 years to do so-
ATF has been buried in SBR and suppressor transfers of late
Dealer to Dealer form 3's take more time too. Figure real easy whatever time it takes to get to your Dealer it will take you lots longer because of the finger prints
Not sure if the E-transfer system is running yet but that will help-
Many fingerprint reports are not being done in 4 months-
Send your stuff in and forget about it for 6 months then call the examiner corresponding to the last name of the seller and make darn sure you check the box near the bottom of the form that allows YOU to inquire as to status. Send a personal check so you will know not only that your package was received but when its cashed- A lot harder to do with a cashiers check and a CC does not save you anytime- money stripped out before the package is sent to the examiners.
Good Luck and enjoy it when the wait is over

I'm about 2 weeks in right now but my dealer says their last three have been averaging 10 weeks.

Well at least I timed it ok. I have all winter to wait. Just hope I can get some practice in before the shooting season starts back up.

I turned in my paperwork in March and was approved in late September for a suppressor. It's a pretty decent wait.

Supposedly they are getting out of the quagmire and speeding up again. I've heard of more sub-90 days transfers in the last couple weeks than I had in the months since Obama took over combined.

I've been waiting since July...

My dealer, when I saw him in the middle of November said it should be any day now. lol. I know better.

Does anyone know if there are separate lines for Form 1 vs. 4's, personal vs. trust, etc?

It appears that the tax stamp section is one small group, 5 or 6 folks that actually do the processing. Used to be an NFA website with all their names and little bits of info on each like speed, things they like to question, whether they are helpful or not, etc.

Not sure if it's still around. Maybe someone remembers it, I can't think of the site now.

The last transfer I did, I received back on Oct 19th. Total time was 170 days from when I mailed it. This was a form 4 done as an individual.

The timelines have been all over the place. Some people are getting their stuff back in 90 days, others like me are going much longer. It all depends on who you get assigned as an examiner. Some work faster than others. On SilencerTalk they were saying that one examiner will hold onto forms until she has several from the same dealer to send back. Not good if your dealer isn't a high volume one.

I'm getting ready myself to start this all over again. I have a form 1 and a form 4 right now at the Sheriffs for sign off.

The form 1's and the form 4's get mailed to seperate locations. After that It will depend on the examiner. Trusts used to be faster, but anymore they don't seem to make a difference in timeframe.

There was this site but is old and doesn't have the current people and timeframes

It may depend of which examiner you have to some small extent. Since they are processed by first letter of last name or something like that you could either keep getting a good examiner who checks it all out and puts it in the mail or keep getting the one that scrutinizes the dot on each I and the cross over every T. I did like that little glimmer of hope that things are getting better the further we get away from last November. I know CMP was backed up an extra 90 days over the usual. Still no ammo to shoot, and primers getting harder to find. Hmmmph.
