Is it a a difficult or "tricky" round to load for? I have read some info that the brass can not be reloaded many times and there is problems with the shoulder area? Is it much different to load than say the .223?

Any input appreciated.

Thanks

FN 5.7 is possibly one of the technically most complicated rounds to load for. The window for the powder load is very tight between OK and overcharged, and the brass itself is difficult to work with. It's shouldered, it's coated, it's tiny. Good luck/.

I had the hots for a new AR lower with a 5.7 upper but after much reading about the difficulties of reloading for it, I decided it was just way too much trouble. Case life is dismal.

I reloaded for an AR 57 for awhile. It was a fun little caliber. A bolt gun or Contender in 5.7X28 would be much easier to load for. You could treat the shoulder normally then.

The FiveSeven Forum is a great source of info. You might even dig up some old posts by me.

Definitely not the best caliber for a beginner reloader. It's (in the AR 57, Five Seven pistol, & PS 90 at least) a whole nother animal.

Thanks, I have always wanted the Pistol and there a couple like new "used" ones at the shop. Although still very expensive a lot less than a new one. Kind of a novelty to me. I have shot them at it's really a great gun. Whats' weird is that through the whole ammo "crisis" of the last year or so, the factory ammo as remained at around $20/box of 50. But the way the gun shoots and the capacity, I'd eat up ammo faster than any semi auto I have.

Lets see, gun, dies, bullets maybe have the powder=$$$$:banghead:
I have enough calibers.

Thanks for talking me down.:)
