Curious as to what the cost was new?
(how close to msrp was it?)

How it shoots out of the box?

And overall impressions of it?
(Fit and finish? Well balanced? etc)

Paid approx. 20-25% below list. Gun is very nicely finished, the SA trigger is amazing while the DA needed some dry-firing and shooting to smooth up. My impression is that the Performance Center people spent much more time on the SA than the DA. The gun is stictly a two hander, very muzzle heavy and lends itself to rapid DA fire. I shoot mine exclusively DA with standard velocity 158 grain 38 special reloads. Makes nice ragged one hole groups at 7 yards with a Weaver stance. I use the Ahrends wood grips, the gun comes with both the Ahrends and rubber Hogues. I really enjoy the gun. :) :)

I liked mine so much I used it for slow fire bullseye with 38 wadcutters. But it does very well with 110 grn and 124 grn 357. I even sent it back to S&W for the laser engraving ($133)
Cost was $928 new

Amyone own a S&W 627

I just picked one up. 30% off list. I love the look and feel of the gun. The action is very smooth. So far, dry fired only. Hope to try it at the range this weekend.

About $700.00 or thereabouts for mine.
It is the only .357 magnum I now own and i don't need another.

The gun shoots well but the full moon clips are somewhat disappointing, they are hard to feed into the cylinder under stress and still a pain when done at leisure.

I would prefer an HKS speedloader but they tell me there are not enough guns out there to justify the cost of tooling up for this weapon.
A pity and nonsensible move on their part considering the Taurus 8 shot uses a near identical dimension cylinder,,,,,
