From the transcript of the debate:

"KERRY: I have no intention of wilting. I've never wilted in my life. And I've never wavered in my life.

I know exactly what we need to do in Iraq, and my position has been consistent: Saddam Hussein is a threat. He needed to be disarmed. We needed to go to the U.N. The president needed the authority to use force in order to be able to get him to do something, because he never did it without the threat of force."

Kerry believes we need authority from the UN to use force! That's scary.

Yes, JFK IS scary! Even his 'shove it' wife is scary! Can ANYBODY imagine HER as first lady??!! SHEEEEEESH!

Kerry is a globalist, and that statement typifies their thinking. It is the logical extension of misguided, upside down liberal thought-that "society" confers rights and privileges on individuals. National sovereignty to their minds is an outdated concept. That is dangerous for us all.

Wayne D, that struck me right away.

GW did go to the UN. The gang of tinpot dictators rejected him. So he put together a small alliance and went in.

The problem Kerry has is that back in 1991, after GHW Bush assembled just the sort of UN-backed coaliton that Monsieur Kerry claims we need, Kerry voted against going into Iraq and Kuwait.

Just another of the flops in his closet of flip-flops.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasnt the un supposed to be just a place for natoins to settle their problems short of military action. And once that action is taken the most they can do is send in peacekeepers  who seem to make great targets in all that white i seem to remember them wearing:D .

Didn't he also say that the way to deal with Iran on the nuclear issue would be to allow them to have the weapons grade plutonium but if they didnt use it for energy purposes THEN apply sanctions? It went by quick and Bush just hit his talking points AGAIN instead of hitting it.

I'll have to check the transcripts.
