Anyone Purchase a C&R Full-Auto Firearm?

I have a C&R license and I'm slowing adding to my collection. After watching a couple of recent "History of the Gun" episodes, I was curious if anyone has purchased a full-auto C&R firearm? Such as a Thompson Submachine Gun, BAR, M2 Grease Gun, and etc. What was your experience in the process in obtaining your full-auto C&R firearm? Thanks.

I'm curious about this as well, in Michigan the only FA's that are legal are C&R eligable Full Auto's and I would really like to have a Browning M1919A4 in 8mm Mauser.

I'm in the market for a C&R full auto as well, going to use my 03 FFL for it. I believe, for an 03 FFL holder, the only requirement is the form 4 and the dealer can ship the gun directly to you.

I'm sure someone with more experience on these things would chime in.

Hmm, sounds interesting. Might be a much easier way to get into class 3... Hope it turns out to be so.

I've never bought a NFA on my C&R, but I know some that have. You simply find the dealer with what you want, regardless of state, provide him with your signed FFL, do the Form 4 and when it clears, he ships it to your front door.

My Dad bought a DEWAT (deactivated war trophy; it can't fire, but can be easily restored to firing condition) Japanese Type 99 light machine gun a few years ago on his C&R. I remember that he had to get the local sheriff's approval, a full FBI background check, and had to wait about six months. I'll talk to him about and get some more specific info.

Yep, gotta get the CLEO unless you are a corporation and I haven't seen a corporation with a collector's license (yet).

I bought a S&W76 simply because it was the cheapest quality subgun that I could afford. The WWII stuff is getting closer to the price of a used car. Mine was 9mm, uses ultra-reliable Swedish K mags, has parts available, and was what I came across at the time. After at least 50K rounds it still runs like a champ. As to the process. You pay the guy or dealer when he gives you a form 4. You take the form, add your picture to the back, (passport photo) get the Police Chief to sign, get fingerprinted, wait for 3-9 months and then you pick up the gun.
