I have enjoyed The Gun Wire for several months. It's mainly links to gun related postings, articles and videos which have showed up in the last day or so. A good way to see what's happening on the net.

http://thegunwire.com/

It updates regularly, so if you go back a couple of times a day the top stories will change. Or at least it did.

Since last week the main page has displayed the same articles and pictures. There appears to be some activity because they are updating their video section, but it's not behaving the way I'm used to.

Do any of you know if they are having problems, or if they have changed their delivery model?

I think that they had a banner turned on suggesting they were making some maintenance level changes and that updates would be slow for a few days.

I used to check in with this site almost daily. About a week ago they stopped posting new articles and just updated the daily YouTube dump. The site has been static for several days now. Looks like another decent site bites the dust. Supposedly Tam over at The View From The Porch shut down due to a cyber stalker. I wonder if there is an effort to intimidate gun bloggers in play?

Same observation: the articles on the site "thegunwire.com" have not been updated for more than a week. Only the list of YouTube videos is being updated, as far as I can see.

Don't know what's going on with gunwire, try thegunfeed.com. Not as nicely formatted but similar content.

Glad I came across this, thought I had a browser setting goofed up or that something else on my end was messing it up.

It's been stuck on the page with that 'bad guy' target for weeks now. Many weeks. I finally deleted it from my favorites just last night.

I don't know what happened, it was a good site. I read it all the time. Not any more.

I have used thegunfeed.com as a replacement for a source of gun news. It is almost the same but is not as polished as thegunwire was. Sorry to see it go, you would think that the revenue would be such that another group would want to pay to take over the site.

It's very difficult to make money off of a website these days as there are few revenue models that work unless your pageviews are in the hundreds of thousands per day.

I had figured something was wrong as nothing was changing.
Darn, enjoyed that as my go to gun news site.

Just came across this thread after doing a google search. Too bad they died. You'd think they'd at least try to sell it off or something.

Too bad about thegunwire, the had a lot of good information

Too bad no one has more details. They had a lot of ads running. Hard to believe they could not make money.

Sad to see it go.
