Anyone reload .410? Fiocchi hulls?

One really should skiv new hulls that have never been crimped and the brass crimp starter (for new hulls) from BPI definitely helps too, as does making sure all stations on your press are properly adjusted.

https://www.ballisticproducts.com/Super-Crown-Crimper-Small-Bore-6-Point/productinfo/0740008/ is this what your talking about? I never knew this existed! I'm gonna have to get one. I hate the plastic starter my die set came with. The old 12 gauge dies my 600 jr came with had aluminum crimp starters. I just wish they made one of the brass deals in an 8 point form

i was thinking the stack height was too high but that's a guess, you would need to experiment to see if it changes your crimp. i have roll crimped .410 shells ,one needs to watch rolling them too much , don't let the roller overheat the crimped area, when i did it and took them trap shooting, the crimped end shattered off. it's possible to roll the end down and melt it shut with friction. So a fairly light roll the the roll crimping device
b.p. was giving away translucent white 12 gauge shells several years ago and i had to shorten the wad to get the crimp right , about 3/16 of inch , for fold crimp
