looking into reloading for my mosin but cant seem to find new brass? where do you get yours?

I reload a lot of it. I invested in the $$ Norma and Lapua brass and it has indeed lasted the longest. The S&B reloadable brass (often sold as Winchester too) is OK but starts to split after fewer reloads.

Midway has it, and you can always find batches on gunbroker.

I get best results priming with the special CCI LR primers for the 7.62 Nato. They're great for shallow cups and hard-hitting pins.

I tried neck sizing only but then I went from a 91/30 to an M39 and none of my brass fit the Finn! So I had to go back and full length resize everything to get them to chamber.

I bought some Privi ammo to get brass but the rifle shoots less than one inch with the stuff so why reload......chris3

I agree, the Prvi shoots great out of my M39 also. That said, I'm a cheapskate and I can equal the performance of Prvi factory ammo with my handloads, while saving a lot of money.

Most of my x54r brass is reloaded PRVI. On occasion Grafs will have new PRVI brass, but you have to watch out for it. Sells out fast. I also bought some Lapua brass which was expensive.

All of my acquisitions have been online. Never find it locally, except maybe the loaded PRVI ammunition.

I'm reloading 54r.

I bought prvi and shot it all off for amost the same price as buying brass. By all accounts the prvi brass is fantastic.

The reason i'm reloading is because nobody makes a premium hunting round for 54r.

I'm loading up .311 caliber Barnes TSX 150g for deer and elk this year.

I buy loaded Prvi Partisan ammo and reload the brass. I neck size only to extend the case life.
+1 on that

The brass alone is 75% or better the price of the loaded ammo. When I reload, I'm currently breaking some Polish surplus down for the bullet and powder, and only putting 3/4 of the powder back in the brass. The result is a nice mild target load that is still accurate and is no where near as "punishing" as the full military load.
