New_geezer said:I can only go by what I've seen them for in CA. $285 regular, $235 on sale at Turner's Outdoors. Price mainly goes to condition. The one's I saw at Turner's looked pretty nice. If you go for it, examine the gun carefully before purchase and I recommend changing out the recoil springs before shooting. And most important, never use high power ammunition. Do a search and you'll see my recent sad story.

Southern Ohio Guns still had the Walther P-1's in the November sales flyer.

carolinaman said:Hi Pilot,
They are listed on page 7 on the monthly flyer. Wholesale price of $229.00/each plus shipping.
The item number is WAL-P1SEL. They are listed to be in VG condition and I have a friend that bought one. He was very satisfied with it.
Since this flyer is 2 weeks old, I don't know if they still have them in stock.

Sactown said:River City Gun Exchange in Sacramento has them for $329. They appear new and unissued. Comes in a cardboard box with 2 mags, cleaning kit, and a holster. I looked through mine and there is no wear on the rails. Does not appear to be a refurb. Date code is 1978 mfg.
New_geezer said:Pilot, I Think you'll be happy with your purchase. If you or anyone else is curious, here's a link with several pictures that will explain the various markings the P-1 can have, along with other interesting info. The P38forum is a good resource for any questions you might have about this particular firearm.

Pilot said:Thanks Geezer! Great site, I sent Orv my serial number for his book. Curiously mine is a older one (1962). Most seem to be from the 70's and 80's. Mine has the old style black leather holster instead of the cloth camo one. Also, the slide is makred P 38, not P-1. Seems like an interesting firearm with a lot of history.
