Anyone try Hornady Zombie Bullets?

im sick of the whole zombie fad. Ruger makes zombie LCPs, KaBar makes zombie knives and Hornady makes zombie ammo. all lame

The zombie fad has jumped the zombie shark and gone off in the helicopter with zombie batman and zombie Fonz.

The big thing now is archery. I'm sure some of you have been drug to see "The Hunger Games."

It kinda bothers me to see all this zombie stuff hitting the market. Like really there is no zombie apocalypse... Not gonna happen. I think it's just a good excuse for people on the fence to buy a gun who may have social pressure from family and friends that don't like guns. Ya know when they hear you got a gun and ask why you can sidetrack the serious conversation with this funny zombie BS statement. "oh I got it for the zombie apocalypse hahahaha"

I know, right? We should totally stop that kind of thing and instead have them tell others that it's for the real purpose of bringing down black helicopters.
Or for protecting themselves from these very common home invasions involving a gangbanger ex-marine fireteam high on meth, PCP and coke, armed with M4s and body armor who regularly steal X-Boxes.

I don't know about any of you guys but the more new shooters pick up a gun and go to the range and have some fun, the better. I don't much care why they're there.

I think it's kinda cool to have a marketing team that knows how to make money. I can sure think of worse marketing gimmicks. But as you can tell my by handle I love this crap.

Could simply be to have fun at the range... That's pretty harmless.

I got some in 9mm and .308 for kicks and gigs. I havent shot any of the .308 but the 9mm works just fine in my M&P9c

The sky is falling, this is soooo bad for gun owners, blah, blah....:uhoh:

These are a novelty, a collectable, memorabilia, something to be purchased and put aside as a conversational item, then sold by your grandchildren (years from now) for a lofty sum.

Props to Hornady and their creative marketing department for capitalizing on the collectible nature of the shooting sports and firearms culture.....I see no harm whatsoever in these, unless of course you're a zombie. ;)

It's only lame to me because I have watched Romero films since I was too young to be watching such things, also me and my friends were discussing the zombie apocalypse since we were 14... so for me, its been outplayed for a long time.

Otherwise its kind of neat?

Man, the Zombie craze is so ridiculous, isn't it? Just like all those kids that grew up in the 50's who were into the cowboy craze and bought single action revolvers and lever action rifles because it is what they saw on tv and the movies? Dumb, huh?

It had a condition known as Fibroma. This was the worst one I've ever seen. It had no vision out the right eye and the left one was almost covered over. The deers body was probably 40% covered as compared to the head/neck.

I've shot a few with Fibroma. It is contagious from deer-to-deer by bodily contact (and by deer rubbing against contaminated trees, brush, etc.)
but supposedly not transmittable to humans.

The NC Wildlife Commission says the disorder is only on the skin and the meat is safe to eat. I Ain't Eating It! I used rubber gloves to put a rope around its neck and drug it off with the four wheeler...cut the rope and left it with the deer.

Do a google search on Deer Fibroma. Lots of info will surface.

I would just hope a company making ammunition and reloading supplies would steer towards the conservative side... instead of going to schtick tactics with zombie bullets. Really... I would have bought a dillon instead of a lock n load if I knew they had this garbage out.

There's plenty of corporations who do just that. Especially in the conservative dominated filed of firearms. I am kinda glad one of the companies is injecting just a tad bit of humor.

What gets me worse about overall marketing is the assumption that the average buyer has an IQ of three.

idk... I dont see much humor in bullet making. If I want a funny bullet I certainly dont want it from the same company thats making my not funny bullets. IDK if that even makes sense!! HAHAH!

There's also nothing funny about Dorito chips. But man ... the mouse commercial is funny. Following that logic you couldn't even sell a funny book with humor, because the point is to sell the book, not make people laugh.

This is a good point to make. Oh yeah, The music now is so much more terrible than the previous generations, and the previous one before that, and that and that..

Who can forget about the companies that make different colored paint to apply to firearms?! Or sell firearms that are Pink/Red/Urbanflauged/Hello Kittied.

I find the argument however that people will snag upon this snazzy box of ammo because of the word Zombie to not hold any more water than any other promotional material out there.

Varageddon bullets?
Varmit Nightmare?
Whatever other descriptions used for killing animals with expanding projectiles?

Wait guys! What about those Evil black assault weapons?

Don't like them don't buy them. And It is nice to see a company that is as old as this one doing something to shake it up in a different way. Like it or hate it the Zombie thing is one of the pop culture things going around these days.
