Ok, ok, I know the general opinion regarding the Sigma pistols. Please NO POSTS regarding quality or dislike of the Sigma. I'm just wondering if anyone out there uses this as their main carry gun. I've got one of the .40's that actually works (always) and seeing as I don't have the money to buy a new pistola I'm gonna be using it as my CCW for a while. Right now I currently only have one IWB holster which is a cheap Uncle Mike's that I originally bought just to store the pistol in (main holster is Bianchi OWB that just won't do for concealed carry). The UM holster conceals the Sigma surprisingly well under a t-shirt considering the price and quality but I just want to know what you use to conceal your Sigma? Just curious and looking for the best option. I know about all the popular holsters out there but I just want to hear views on this gun and what works for you (if there is anyone out there?!). Thanks.

I CARRIED A SIGMA 40 FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. NEVER HAD

PROBLEM ONE WITH IT.
The only thing I disliked about it were the plastic sights that looked sorta hinky but worked fine once I blacked out those silly white dots.
There ain't a thing wrong with a good SIGMA pistol.

Carried my .357 Sig Sigma in a IWB holster similar to the Don Hume clip on IWB. Worked fine. Switched over to G32 after that. Just a bit smaller. BTW, I now carry a G19 or 26 (I just like these better).

A Buddy of my Uncle's carries a .380 sigma daily, he carries IWB in a leather clamshell holster (not sure of the make) but he claims no failures of any kind with the pistol, though he admits it wasn't the most expensive pistol he's ever bought.

I'd have no problem with carrying one of the newer Sigmas.

Those thin Uncle Mike's neoprene IWB holsters work really well. I have one for every gun I own...they're pretty handy in the summer, because they are thin and shield the gun from sweat.

The first gun I ever CCW'ed was a Sigma 40VE, and I still do sometimes.
The holsters I use are as follows.
Blade-Tech IWB with a 15° forward cant.
Fobus Paddle holster.
Gould & Goodrich, 3 slot pancake (OWB) leather lined holster. Good for straight drop or forward cant.
I also have a cheap leather no name IWB.

For me the Blade-Tech works the best, followed by the G&G pancake holster. The Fobus works well, if you want just a good knock around holster.

I also use a Blade Tech double mag carrier.

Jason Demond,

Thanks! That is exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for!

I carried a Sigma 40V for several years. It was another good one BTW, no jams or breakages at all in several thousand rounds. I used a clone of a Mitch Rosen ARG. If you`re not familliar with them it`s an FBI cant IWB with the belt loop offset toward the rear a bit so that it`s not at the thickest part of the gun/holster like most IWBs. It worked well enough that I often used it under a T shirt, course I`m a big guy which helps. :) Marcus

A good pistol is a good pistol. Even though the general consensus is many of the Sigmas were sub par I have heard of a few people who have gotten great pistols. Yours is a great one that you have confidence in....nuff said.

I'd be afraid that i couldn't pull the double action trigger without getting finger cramps. Some of them come out of the factory excessively heavy, like, NYPD spec heavy (17lbs!)

Flyer and cslinger,

Thanks for the encouragement. I don't care all that much what people think about my gun but I just didn't want my thread filled up with worthless comments about it. That's why I had the disclaimer in the first sentence. Otherwise the thread probably would have been full of posts similar to Nero's.

The reason I stated it that way about not being able to afford a new gun is that if I could I would because although the Sigma has been very reliable and I can hit center mass with it at any reasonable distance, I'd prefer something smaller with a lighter trigger pull and a tad more accurate. But since I can't afford the Springfield XD subcompact at this juncture I have to stick with the Sigma. :)

Clubsoda,

If the pistol had a 17lb trigger pull I promise you it would have never left the store with me!

not saying your did, but i have seen sigma triggers vary so much that some are near impossible to pull. In fact, my local gun shop has a week where they offer "Free trigger jobs with the purchace of any new sigma" just to move them.

I want an XD subcompact too. :D
