Since Alaska doesn't allow the use of scopes on muzzleloaders, I'm thinking about removing my Nikon red-dot from my T/C Omega and putting it on my Marlin 1895GS. The factory rear site on my Marlin broke within 10 minutes of having it home, and I wanted to put better sites on it anyway.

Has anyone used the above scope mount? Is it well built, etc?

Are there better scope mount options that would allow a rear ghost ring to cowitness through the red dot and still be sturdy? Without gunsmithing?

Thanks.

I have the earlier version on my 1895 Guide Gun, it is a forward (Scout) mount only, but I like the new version better. Mine is very sturdy and well made, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the longer one; XS, formerly Ashley Outdoors, makes good stuff, their ghost ring sights are excellent also.
