Anyone want to play some violent games with me?

i play Black Hawk Down, eid servers. m21 is my weapon of choice.

used to play MOHAA, but wound up getting burned out on it.

Hi everybody! This is my first post after lurking here a while. As I'm still somewhat of a beginner in regards to actual firearm knowledge, I figured I'd post about something I know a bit more about-games!

The most realistic game that I've ever come across has been True Combat: Elite. It's based on modern warfare (M16s v AKs), but many other guns (snipers, shotguns, SMGs, etc.) in and still to be added. Frag, smoke, and flashbang grenades. No crosshairs, and iron sites are absolutely essential. Without them, you won't hit someone ten feet away. And there is no 'spraying and praying' - even people with submachine guns use the iron sites at close range. I also read that they are going to have realistic wobbling in the next version-no cone of fire, the bullet's path will be determined by what the gun is doing onscreen. Good graphics too.

The best part? It's a completely free mod. The base game, Enemy Territory, is free to legally download. Google 'true combat' to find the site. What's there to lose?

That said, I'm looking forward to posting on this wonderful site more.:)

Anybody play Rise of Nations? Best RTS game ever, imho.

I'm currently working my way through Dungeon Siege 2, slowly but surely.

I've been inspired by a recent thread.
Would anyone like to setup a THR Battlefield 1942 game sometime soon?
Have you considered non-violent books? History of the entire WWII campaign? Eisenhower's memoirs? Patton's memoirs? Montgomery's memoirs? A history of the Eastern front? Something educational beyond a juvenile and violent video game? Just curious...

Have any mods considered the ban-hammer?

Thank you for assuming that I am a drooling cretin who does nothing but sit in front of his computer all day, blasting away at little digital nazis.
In fact, I do read about WWII, and history in general, quite a bit more often than I play violent games about WWII.
Perhaps you should not speak about someone you know nothing about?

Another favored tactic was, of course, the MIRV jump with the demoman. Impossible, you say? Not so

It is, indeed, impossible. If you are me, anyways. ;) I've played TFC on and off for over four years, I still can't conc jump very well. I can rocket jump with some degree of success but I usually stick to the ground.

Needless to say, I rapidly developed a hatred of enemy snipers...... so I got good with the Spy. :p

Spies are so cute. Especially when you jump on top of them after they have feigned and crowbar them to death. :neener: It takes a special player to do well as a spy.

Hmm, I always figured a Barret .50 (M82) would be best, no red dot to let that poor bastard know what's coming.

The HWGuy seemed like a quantity over quality guy to me. Lots and LOTS of bullets, accuracy be blasted. The MG-42 fits the perfectly.

It does take a lot of practice, and more than a little luck...there was more than one time, whilst carrying the enemy flag, some bastard sniper would suddenly decide he had to return to the ramp respawn room as I chucked the grenade around the corner and ran smack into him.... this usually would up me dead, and a few snipers, flag sitting just in hall to the left of the ramp respawn rooms. :cuss:

That's pretty good...which is why one has to be careful feigning. Didn't use that much myself, I always preferred sudden "mad minute" type attacks...sneak in, make them think I'm a buddy.....wait until they get all nice and zoomed in, then out comes the knfie....
Now, if they were smart and friendly fire was off, they'd shoot me, note the blood, and finish me off quick... sadly, many games on public servers weren't filled with smart players, just idiots that LOVED sniperwars (and they'd bitch about the flag being capped or if you were playing any other class than a sniper... if you're gonna play a sniper war, use a :cuss: map set up specifically for it!)

Ma Deuce, then, probably. MG-42 might work ok, but if he ever got a MIRV off before dying.......

I'm still in the stone age playing MOH:Spearhead, IMHO the best multiplayer PC game of the series.
I've been playing it for a good 3 years and am very good at it, but I'm very selective of the types of games I'll play. Death Matches are boring, Objective matches are fun, but my favorite are the Freeze-tag matches where you really have to use good tactics- if you move too far beyond your teammates on the map, You'll end up frozen for the rest of the game unless you are extremely lucky.

And this thread is REVIVED! I'm all open to a COD2 game, I usually play Monty Pythons Beer Wench under "t3hl1z4rdk1n6" (a subtle nod to my favorite frontman), and I don't mean to brag, but I reguraly make Top 5 scorers on a player with 60 people on it.

Played all the recent FPSs - I'm a sucker for the interface, even if FPSs get old after playing just about every major one from Wolf3D/Hexen/Doom, etc. No Battlefield games for me, since that unsightly abortion EA called "Battlefield: Vietnam". Two words: mouse lag. Ugh. Still unpatched, by the way.

- America's Army is the best waste of taxpayer dollars... evar. I play it occasionally.
- Aliens vs Predator (2, but 1 was also a blast). Smartguns, cloaking devices, and WALLWALKING. Confusing, but quite the entertaining game device.
- Tremulous: free, open-source version of Gloom built on the Quake 3 engine. Not *quite* as spiffy as AvP2, but less buggy and has more active players. More wallwalking, with a dab of RTS for flavor.

Few others have held my interest. CS was fun up until 1.5...

BF1942 - mostly coral sea.... play as 'infopimp' - will check out America's Army - price is right (lets see... my tax bill last year wa.. holy :cuss: )
