Anything a new Redhawk owner should know?

Watch the little pin that holds the hammer strut ( or something in that area, I can't remember exactly) because mine shook loose under recoil. It locked things up pretty well until I could take the grips off.

Just thought I'd follow up this thread. I was really surprised when I got around to shooting it--having this much gun really tames the cartridge. Shooting specials was like a 9mm service pistol, and 240gr magnums weren't uncomfortable at all. I was teaching my girlfriend to shoot that day and she had no trouble handing the Redhawk after learning on a .22 an hour before.

Really like this big ol' gun.

I agree, and am not surprised you like it.

I picked up a 7.5" RH last year, to go with my SRH, several SBH, and a few other brand 44s.

Th Redhawk is a very nice revolver, and makes hotter loads easy to handle.
