I stumbled across this interesting gun on gunbroker.com and was interested if someone that owns one could maybe post pictures or videos of a range trip with the gun and maybe some interesting info. Thank you.

p.s. what caught my eye about the gun was it's size; it dwarfed, repeat dwarfed the Barret M82A1:what:

so would each round have a $200 ATF surcharge? before cost and shipping? ouch.

Aren't those things considered destructive devices? I believe the ammo used is explosive?

A DD, yes. Explosive ammo, illegal. Anzio sells civie legal 20mm ammo IIRC, or you can get the thing in .50/20mm (12.7mm/20mm) a shortened 20 necked down. That means it is no longer a DD, and yoju can use all the bullets for the .50 BMG for it.

Well, you just need to see it in person now, the thing dwarfes ME!:D it is huge..... (and heavy, i couldn't pick it up off the table...:uhoh:)

no. Commen myth. The GUN is the DD, not the ammo.

By the way what does this thing weigh... I mean if it's bigger than an M82A1 then if I would give an estimate I would say at least 50lb. maybe more. Lets make a dare fire the anzio from the standing position (shouldered not resting on a tripod or other object that could take the weight off your arms) sorry had to put that part in my uncle has a knack for finding loopholes

Way too big, way too heavy, way too expensive, completely impractical.

I want one sooo bad.

It's not a "myth" that some types of ammo have a per-round $200 stamp requirement.

Rounds carrying more than X amount of explosive material (40mm HE grenades, mortar rounds, rockets, etc) are NFA items in their own right and require a stamp. As I understand it, the very, very few people with legal access to HE grenades and mortar rounds just register as DD dealers rather than pay all the individual stamps.

However, so long as you're firing non-explosive projectiles in the 20mm Anzio, the projectiles aren't DD, just the rifle. Not sure if an explosive 20mm round has enough explosive material to be a DD on its own, but if so it would need a $200 stamp per round. Otherwise not.

The only things that could make that rifle anymore perfect would be figuring out a way to make it burn coal, also maybe add a sling made from baby seal skins, stitched with white rhino hair, and a grip made from the ivory of a sperm whale. Then put it all in a fine case made from redwood trees, upholstered in leather made from rare mountain gorilla hide.

Then it could be the most politically incorrect object ever created. Perfection. I want one, badly.

Can you reload 20mm?

50 BMG is the largest press that I've ever heard of...

I want that bullpup 20mm from South Africa... whenever I have an extra $10k that I don't feel particularly attached to :p

The Anzio is certainly fun to fire, it must be said. With the suppressor on it, you really wouldn't believe how quiet and tame that cannon really is. No kick to speak of either..

Regarding the question about the ammo requiring $200 tax/round, they sell "training" and tracer ammo on the Anzio Ironworks site.

I've been looking for a good squirrel rifle, but I think that might be a little too heavy out in the field. I'll probably just go with a Windrunner instead.
