I have an M&P 40c. I always thought the trigger was O.K. until last weekend I shot my Glock 22 right after shooting the M&P and finally realized that the M&P trigger kinda sucks.
I see that for $165.00 I can get an Apex trigger kit. I figure that's similar to what it would cost me to sell the M&P and buy another Glock.
Is the Apex that good?

Why would you need to buy another 40S&W GLOCK when you already have one? For that matter, why do you need the S&W M&P 40 if you have a GLOCK 40?

OP did not ask if they should get another Glock, they asked if the trigger kit in was worth $165.

Subscribed, just because I'm interested in getting an M&P40 with an Apex kit vs. the M&P40 Pro...

Glock since you have all the gear for it. Otherwise, it's another hunt for holsters, mag holders, extra mags, night sights, etc. This is all fun, but it gets expensive.

Why get something almost as good as a Glock and pay $160 for trigger unit?

Hard to tell, because each person has a different idea of what a "good trigger" is.

The newer M&P trigger is far better than pre-2013 or so M&P triggers. I hear that APEX kit makes it even better, but I never felt the need for an APEX kit with the newer factory trigger.

I even thought the factory trigger is better than that of Glock. Actually that is one of the reason I went from Glock to M&P, and I am shooting better than ever.

If you prefer the M&P over the Glock (as many people do) then getting a trigger job on the M&P is fairly easy and cheap to do yourself. Google it.

But if you don't trust yourself to do it or just want to keep things simple, buy the kit. YES, it's worth it. Properly done, it'll spoil you for sure.

Abandon both 40's and get a couple of 45's. A 30 and 21 if you're glocking it. A 45 and 45C if you're M&Ping it.

You like the Glock trigger over the M&P? What?

The new M&P triggers are way nicer IMO.

But with that being said, don't spend money trying to make a gun like a different gun. You can easily sell your M&P for what you paid for it and buy the glock.

fixed it for you.
No problem I have and like 1911s.But have come to prefer Sigs for ccw and personal defense. But still carry and use a 1911 sometimes.

Still trying to figure out when the Glock trigger became the standard for great triggers. It's modeled after and has the same feel as a stapler.

The Apex DCAEK and RAM are worth the money. The install is easy enough and the trigger really smoothed out. That being said, the triggers are different. Ask around to other M&P owners, someone will have one installed. Shoot theirs and then decide.

Or go for the install. If not up to your liking sell the M&P at a price that covers your APEX costs.

I am pleased with the APEX kits installed in my M&Ps. I cannot speak for a Glock trigger as i do not own a Glock.

The M&P trigger has a different feel from my M1911s or DA/SA triggered semi-autos.

Not surprising, the mechanism are different. It took a little while to get used to the M&P's trigger action.

:what:

uniformed consumer???

While it is a tad better than a stock M&P, it is no where near great.

I shot my Glock 19 after shooting my Ruger SR9c....SR9c had a much better trigger. Not planning on getting rid of my Glock though. Walther PPQ has a better trigger too.

All of the M&Ps I tried had triggers equally as good as Glock in my opinion

I thought that sounded a bit high, so I took a look for myself...well, you are sort of right if you really think you need their Forward Set Sear (FSS) kit...which is their Rolls Royce system. And is IMO worth the money, however...

They do offer the FSS with the polymer trigger for a more affordable $130

If you just want a better trigger than a tuned Glock G22, all you need is Apex Tactical's Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit (DCAEK) which is priced at $93. The DCAEK would give you a better trigger than that on the M&P Pro

The current M&Ps really do have nicer triggers and are very amenable to clean up and smoothing.
