I just ordered the HighNoon Hideaway holster. I carrry a Springfield XD 45acp with a 4inch barrel. I was wondering if the gun is to big to appendix carry. I'm also wondering how well it will conceal. I'm 5'11" at about 215lbs. How big a gun do you carry appendix carry and do you have any trouble concealing it. One more thing when the holster comes what is the best position to carry in I'm a right handed shooter

Thanks Chuck

Here is mine. It is proving to be comfortable like this. With a light jacket it conceals well. Appendix carry?

Appendix carry is when you carry the gun in front. From a little before 3 oclock to just before 6 oclock. I've read on a few fourms where people have timed their draw and it was faster with an appendex carry or cross draw. I know one thing for sure When you get older and have trouble with your shoulders like the roto cuff the appendex or cross draw is the way to go. The trouble with a cross draw is it is hard to conceal. From what i've read the appendex carry in front is pretty easy to conceal

Every day I thank Gabe Suarez for getting me to try appendix carry. After 20 years of carrying, I was surprised that a carry mode could be so wonderful. It's not for the chunks, though, so do your sit-ups! :)

I've found that barrel length is more critical with appendix carry then with behind the hip carry. I can carry a 3" revolver, for instance, just fine but the same size gun with a 4" barrel digs into my leg.

I can carry a S&W 442 easily and a BHP if I don't have to do any full squats. It's all about how you're built and how high, or low, you wear your pants. The gun conceals very well under a t-shirt or dress shirt if located just to the right of my belt buckle.

My 5" 4506-1 was a bit tricky (when sitting), but I appendix-carry my 4.25" 1076 all the time with no problem at all through all kinds of activities.

I carry that way most often because its one of the flattest portions of my body (that being a relative term) and under one of the least flat (that also being relative) and so the easiest way for me to keep a gun concealed.

It's funny: it works for some folks, and it doesn't for others. Build is surprisingly not a good predictor. Mas Ayoob writes that his oldest daughter appendix-carries a P239 - his writing and your report are the only women I've heard of carrying this mode. I'm glad to hear it works for you. :)
