April 2009 Rimfire Match!

I'd be glad to set up a center fire match, maybe not next month, but for June I'd be golden (I might not have my own range membership until then... I'd kind of like to compete in my own contest >_>)

I have no bias against any kind of rifle (except maybe the Sten, just because it looks like a caulk tube :uhoh:) so I'll place no silly bolt/semi limitations, I'm simply of the large caliber persuasion when it comes to my preferred guns.
 
Ya know, i forgot about the .30-30 comp! :eek: Next month it needs to be stickied... I doubt i will be able to get out, as my brother is not exactly able to give me his rifle right now.....(kinda hard to when he is so far away:D)
 
GVNWST - thanks for organizing this! I wanted to enter at least one more target for the April shoot, but I just couldn't seem to find the time sneak away to the range! :( But I may have some time later today. :evil:

I know there was some discussion of targets for the May shoot. I've enjoyed shooting both of the targets you've chosen so far. I'd like to propose that we alternate between the two. If someone comes up with another candidate, we can cross that bridge when we get to it.

So, if I get out today and don't hear otherwise, I'll be shooting at the one that has the series of progressively smaller solid circles. I hope to be posting something decent soon!!

THIS IS SAD. When going back through my threads to get the target from march...i noticed, the march match has 3 TIMES the posts, and over 1K more views! We must be doing something wrong people.....:uhoh:

P51, i have made the new match, with the old target, shoot away. Hey, i never got to shoot the new target.:(
 
I never did get around to posting my 2 tries. I could only muster up a 23 with a .17 HMR Weatherby and a 22 with a semi-auto Weatherby XXII. The 4x scope on the latter made it very difficult to see at 50 yards. Congrats Pat!

Don't despair. I've been concentrating on practicing for the upcoming club informal .22 pistol bullseye competition, and I missed your great idea for a forum-based "postal" competition. I know I can't shoot like the rest of you guys, but this should be fun, and I intend to try it with my .22 mag as soon as I get some good weather to get to the outdoor range. By the way, I use your original small-dot-in-a-circle target for close-range airgunning. Good .177 caliber airguns are so accurate at close range that you have to use small targets to make it interesting.

BTW: It will improve the targets if you pick up some light-weight card stock at your local copy store to print on. The holes will be more definite than in regular copy paper. Also, try some ivory colored stock instead of white--it usually helps the contrast between the black and the background.

Well being the APRIL rimfire match I think it's over...give the May match (stickied at top) a try. :neener:
