orlando, the remington 12 series (A,B,C,CS) slide action was made from 1909-1936. not sure exact year my rifle falls under

That is a nice old gun, ifit. My neighbor has a Winchester 61 which is very similar. Love those old gallery guns. It's good to see they still get to go to the range.

From the discussion so far, I believe that ifit's target in post #56 using a CZ452
with a bipod rest should be in the Target class. And I believe his 58 score there is the
top score. Correct me if I'm wrong Mav.

Yes, you are correct, all supported targets should be classified as "Unlimited Target". Thanks for the correction.

That sounds like a reason for a new rifle to me.
I need to build my target (with optics) 10/22 first.

:)

Nice rifle ifit, I have my fathers Model 12, though I am not sure of the year. I will have to look that up. It is a fun little rifle and has a good feel to it. Looks like you scored a 14+18+11=43.

My apologies for being slow to respond, I feel a bit green today (hopefully not the flu). :)

Thank you Maverick for organizing this. It's been great fun. I love seeing some of the older guns come out to play. Hope you feel better soon!

Just got back from the range. Had good crosswinds so only shot at 25yds.
Forearm of rifle on bag
Iron sights
Mossberg 44 bOLT ACTION
Agulia standard velocity 40 gr
Guess this would go in unlimited class

Hm. The economy must not be all that bad because you guys are working during the week instead of shooting at the range.

Packing up for the Friday range trip...looks like a Remington 521 bolt action sporter gets the nod. Orlando, I'm after your top score there.

Hey Maverick223; if I shoot a 60 in the target class and knock out the little Xs in the target bull, do I get the top score with a 60 and 3x? Or is it smallest group size?

I think if it comes down to it the top score should be based upon group rather than location...if that makes any since. :)

Orlando's top score is safe for another week. 56/60 was the best I could muster this evening.

Wow, how did I get that shot way over there on target #1? Must be the ammo. Yeah, that's the ticket. :)

This is a sporter with a blade front sight.

Good job, yep theres always that flyer that has to ruin everything.
I have been trying to get bacl out again to try and get a perfect score but the wind and rain hasnt been cooperating

Thanks guys.

Strictly my fault in this case. Was settling down into the sling with my finger on the trigger and POW, before I was ready. Good lesson, re-learned. Something about a booger hook....;)

Hope the weather clears for you guys.

I really wanted to venture out to the range today...but...I forgot there was a gun show this weekend...maybe the beginning of next week will be a bit better. Procrastination...procrastination...procrastination. :)

Hadn't had time with School and 60hr work weeks. Weekends are not good yet... this weekend might get a chance to shoot off some, before the deadline. Supposed to be warmer and not near as windy. Last sat wind was blowing 30mph with gusts to 40.

And no rain!

Thanks... I am nearly finished with my MBA... one more quarter beside this one. Maybe then Uncle Sam will pay off my student loan debt ;)

Well went to the range and was shooting for a perfect score. Everything going great, first target perfect 20 very tight group, second target perfect very tight group, third target going grate perfect shot 8 rds and must have lost my place and ended up putting the last two rds in the second target.
Man I hate that when that happens.:fire

Maverick:

If only the military would take me as a direct commission, I'd be set :) No more student loans, serve my country, shoot rifles, sit in front of a desk, it'd be great....... but that's not happening, as I would have to have a waiver that both the USAF and USArmy have said no to. And besides that, my skillset is not direct-commissionable, since I was not in ROTC at the college level, nor a doctor :(

So I'll be a civi shooting up targets when I get a chance :) (mostly jack rabbits and coyotes for practice)

There has been worse afflictions. :D

On a semi-related note, I put the money down on a GSG-5 today...should arrive tomorrow (already on order)...so I may have a new rimfire to drag out. :D
