Thats what I was getting at, so is .223 the largest/strongest rifle caliber that can work functionally with a magazine and shot semi auto?

No, most of those calibers are as short/shorter than the .223, so they work.

These are all the calibers that are too long, and so need to be single shot/side feed:
58. .375 CheyTac
59. .408 CheyTac
60. .416 Barrett

65. .50 BMG
66. .50 DTC

67. 12ga
68. 20ga

Do you really think you will shoot enough to burn a barrel out???

25wssm for deer and don't look back

The 358wssm at dtec looks cool.

I probably wont shoot it enough to burn the barrel out...probably sight it in and then use it to hunt...and a shot or two before huntin to make sure everythings good...and i would be usin the heavier bullets for deer n hogs anyways...but how many rounds do yall think itd take to burn the barrel out on a .243wssm?

Since you reload, get a .300 whisper. Perfect for a hog gun/deer gun. You can make brass from .223 brass. If you don't mind getting the stuff for it. And if they have lee classic loaders in .300 whisper...

Whisper is very cool. I was going to do but went 7.62x39mm. Hunting big game with an Ar15 is very fun. Try it and you will not go back.
