AR-15 Hanguard Caps: A quick question...

Hello,

I would like to know if the M16A2 Triangular hand guard cap will / would theoretically work on the shorter M4 style hand guards. I ask this question as I am working on a 3D modeling project and do not readily have access to the real thing. (My XM15-E2S Bushmaster only has a free float setup.) I see numerous cuts made in the for end of the M4 hand guards as if they could be used in either the circular hand guard cap or the triangular hand guard cap. Any information would be most helpful. Thank you for your time.

Yes, I "think" so. As an armorer in the 80's - 90's, I regularly swapped out triangular RIFLE handguards for round, using the same handguard cap. The molded tabs on the front of the rifle handguards matched up to the triangular cap. I have no experience with the M4 handguards (been retired too long and I only own floating handguards).

Yup, round handguards are compatible with triangle caps.
