I have seen several post on this forum indicating that PSA might not be the best price. What are some of the other sights to look at? I can't find any that beat them for price or selection.

I would buy from a company that sells good stuff and has a good return policy and very good customer service. Check out Midway. I am very pleased with a Delton kit from them. I have had bad luck with PSA.

If you watch, you find good deals here and there. I put together my free float 308AR less than $750 with APF upper and lower from AIM, PSA would be at least $100 more. I recently bought a Radical Arms free float AR upper at $199 from Primary Arms, you don't get free float at PSA at this price. Both shoot great. PSA has expensive shipping and they don't combine shipping when you buy multiple items. Their Father's Day Special PTAC kit price is hard to beat with free shipping! I was surprised that it was not sold out in 2 hours, but I decided to pass! PSA customer service is great, but they are hard to reach if you try to call them or by email.

There have been great prices over the last year at lots of sites but if buying AR parts or kits you just have to take a look at PSA sales. They very often have incredible prices on quality components. Of course you must know what you want and buy quality items. Their Premium and Freedom lines are good judging what I have bought. I'd skip their PTAC stuff unless you're looking at price alone.

Way to get the best "deals".

0) Know exactly what you want.
1) Shop around to get a feel for "regular" prices.
2) Sign up for Email specials at all the major vendors of AR parts: Midway, Brownells, PSA, Bravo Company, Primary Arms, Joe Bob's Outfitters, Model 1 Sales, etc.
3) Wait for sales on what you want.
4) Buy it when you see a good price

use a search engine like wikiarms or slickguns, as long as you know the specific model your looking for?

I built a PSA AR during the Memorial Day Sale and I'm very pleased with it so far. I bought a freedom upper, blem lower, a BCG and I had a complete AR for $470.

Free shipping on all the stuff.

With the recent Florida shooting and being an election year the political climate is going to be embroiled yet again ... And if the Hildabeast gets elected you can expect more executive actions against our freedoms especially the 1st and 2nd Amendments.

Kimber - that doesn't apply to the OP and is highly speculative.

What damage did Obama do during his eight years? He was aggressive about the agenda and didn't get much done. Neither will the next President. It takes Congress going right along with it, and the last time that happened was the AWB. Which failed notably and which voters continue to bring up as a one issue decision. Voters in CO made it a recall issue and they monitor things a lot more carefully.

Back on topic - add this to a search engine repertoire: http://arpartsfinder.com/

I predominantly used it in the last build and found parts there sooner and cheaper than waiting for a forum thread to be updated with a link - which usually happened after they sold out as posters tend to buy first then share. You don't want to be waiting late in the game as some sales are limited quantity and there are tens of thousands of buyers who can hit the buy button across the nation coast to coast. As proven in the last two panics. The ugly reality is that a lot of those are buying early to RESELL LATER and after a week you see their new price pop up in trade forums or auctions.

You be too late then.

There is a lot of fearmongering and unsubstantiated panic talk going on now, no reason to think there will be one when most buyers understand only the fearful will do it. And suffer for it - thousands of shooters and newbs who spent 2 - 3X for an entry level $600 carbine are still stuck with them. Not many more will do it.

Another good one to look at is Radical Firearms. They distribute through Primary Arms and AIM Surplus (no need to flame, just stating a distributor). You can get an assembled rifle for $500 when they are in stock, and they have melonited barrels and free-float rails from the factory. You can also order direct, but they are in the process of closing their online store, and are currently at 8 weeks lead time.

PSA Parts and Uppers

I have nothing but good to say about PSA. In the last three years, I've ordered two 10.5" uppers, a stainless 16" upper, four LPKs (two with "enhanced" hammers and triggers) two of their premium BCGs, two Bushnell AR scopes and an assortment of grips, stocks, spring kits and small parts. I usually buy on sale or close out.

I recommend that you try them. Good products at a fair price.

I bought a 11.5" PSA upper last weekend for an SBR lower. Got here a few days ago. Noticeably canted front sight. Last upper I'll buy from them. Not worth returning at this point as a part in the hands is better than no part in times of shortage and I see a storm 'a brewing. It'll get a low profile gas block and floater front end. It was an unusable POS as is though.

Also true about the next President not being able to do anything but Ive been waiting for the ISIS stuff to his this country ever since the invasion of Iraq. A few more high casualty mass shootings and the market is going to take off for firearms and/or more regulations are going to kick in.

I was fortunate that my PSA upper, lower and BCG are operating perfectly. I'm willing to keep buying stuff from them, especially during their sales.

Even a big name brand rifle can fail, my S&W AR-15 failed at 2000 rounds, became a single shot. Its on its way back to me now, should be here Monday. I'm really curious as to what the problem actually was.
