"Im gonna finally be ....

"Im gonna finally be controversial, and state that I have never, in 20 years or so, ever had a gun related malfunction in an AR or M16"

Finally he says?? LOL

I carried one for 26yrs in uncle's army (retired in 1994) and have two personal ARs, one of which gets a good wringing out at least once a month.

I have no idea how many rounds I've sent down range/down rice paddy/down a creek etc... but it has to be many tens of thousands, many times in a monsoon or just after diving head first into a rice paddy or mud hole and

I'VE NEVER HAD ONE SINGLE FAILURE TO FEED, FIRE OR EJECT.

I "heard" of this happening but only ever SAW it (while in the Army) once.. and that youngster obviously hadn't cleaned his weapon in weeks or longer.

He didn't need to ever clean it again.

Now a questin for those who've looked at Robinson Arms and AR180Bs and HK piston-type AR derivatives--Does the op rod on the piston fill that neverland inside the top of the receiver and prevent this type of nasty jam? I have a certain suspicion here....
My AR180B had multiple malfunctions where the empty brass would jam up above the next round, in between the bolt guide rods. While it wasn't a tools and dissassembly type malfunction, it was a definate "oh crap" type malfunction. The AR180B is definately a weak design in that respect.
OTOH my Colt LEO/Mil Ar-15 has had zero malfunctions, and runs like a top.
