AR-15 Parts Interchange Question

Will the old model firing pin retaining pin fit the newer bolt carrier instead of the "cotter pin" style" one now used?
It's a PIA to use a new pin every time I disassembly the bolt carrier to completely clean the unit. Thanks for the help.

Yes you can use the old style pins but you shouldn't need to use a new firing pin retaining pin every time you strip down the bolt.

What he said, you should not need to replace the firing pin retaining pin every time you clean, even with the cotter pin. I've had bolt carrier groups with 10k rounds on them that still used the original cotter-pin firing pin retaining pin.
