If I win the lotto I will buy 6 each
We'll wait to hear back from you...:D

P.S.: The OP needs to modify the poll to include the "other" AR operating system...My Short Recoil System...you can build one when you win the lottery :D

This thread is full of fail at this point. Mostly bickering.

DI works just fine in an AR, that is what it was designed to be.

GP is also a great and likely more reliable operating system, but is only really proven to be that way on a weapon designed from the get go as a GP system. I don't see how slapping some GP parts on an AR and converting it is in any way ideal. It might be an improvement in some regards, but it might not be. There are plenty of GP designs out there now, that have good ergonomics, acceptable/good accuracy, and plenty of reliability and durability. So why bother with a GP AR at all? What's the point?

I guess I would market a GP AR to guys that prefer GP but I want them to be able to use all the AR tacticool gagets out there.

My SIG 556 can use lots of the AR gagets but it is a different receiver.

A smart move to tap a huge existing market to make your product more accepted.

I don't know what their motivation was but given the choice of completely proprietary versus taking advantage of an existing market with thousands of accessories I know what I would do.

I personally like the piston design and when I envision it in my head I would use a piston design too. I would not try to tell someone who prefers DI that DI is not as good.

Untill I win the lotto I do not know if one is better than the other. All I know is for me the piston design makes sense.

I also like that I can still have all the available toys to add on when I see fit. So my POF gives me that. My SIG556 limits me a little.

To each their own.

I would definitely like to try a SIG 556, and I also think that the Robinson Armament XCR, and FN SCAR also likely have quite a bit of potential as a tougher, more reliable self loading rifle than an AR15 variant. The thing is that those three rifles were designed from the ground up as gas piston operated systems. Given their existence if I wanted a gas piston auto loader, which I do at some point, I would skip a modded AR and go for one designed that way from the start.

Yes I very much want a SCAR and SCARH. But they come with lots of options so the need for ad ons is not so high. What I like about the SIG and SCAR are their folding stocks.

Are you sure, I have no experience with them (neither firing or shouldering), however I have heard that they have horrible balance and ergonomics. Though, I am willing to give both a try...:D

Good question, I will get back to you on that as soon as I can, but right now I am still trying to perfect my gas operated, double action only, rotating locked breech, ceramic barrel, twin extractor, rubberized titanium framed 1911 Government model.

This is this! It's not some thing else, it's this.

Don't pull it if you don't plan to use it , and don't use it if you don't plan to kill!

Always remember our men an women over there.

If the AR had been made right from the start this would not even be a question. And the AR V AK drama would have never been born!

Put me in for one when it comes on the market :D
