I'm trying to remove a Yankee Hill Machine low profile gas block from my AR. It's got two hex screws in the bottom that I can't get to budge. I called Del-ton who installed it. The lady there said they put locktite on it, so heat it up a little and it should lossen up. I warmed it up slowly by waving a blow torch over the gas block. Got it hot, but not hot enough that I couldn't touch it. Then tried to loosen it again without any luck. My question is... Is it ok to heat up the gas block quite a bit without heating up the rest of the barrel? I think loctite says their thread lockers hold to 300 degrees. Also, if I end up stripping this hex head what's next? Just gingerly drilling out the screw and using a new one?

spray a bit of wyns carb cleaner on it let it stand for a minute or two , then heat it up with a hair dryer , but not near the actual screws , remember you want the metal to warm up and expand , the screws must stay cold , if you heat the screws , they will expand making your problem worse.
